:O YES.
On a more related note, there are already a bunch of mod teams working on a HL2 Death Match mod, so that'll be good.
http://www.jhgamers.com/hl2dm/ This one looks like it'll be the best of them though.
I'm going to go make myself a sandwich, is that OK, or should I make a new thread about it?
Seriously people, we don't need a new thread every time you experience a bodily function somehow related to the release oh HL2.
They review the games based on games that are available at that current time. Of course after 6 years the AI and graphics etc. are going to get better.
If they reviewed games like that then every game after pong would be getting a 10 out of 10.
The clock is not continually counting down.
The clock runs independantly for every person that is viewing it. Every time you view it, it restarts, but it remains constant because it's running from your system clock. It accurately counts down to midnight November 16th, but can't account for...
It's much easier to create a timer that is based on the local time of the person viewing it because the time functions in JavaScript are based on the system clock.
Also because it's JavaScript, it isn't storing any information other than the time it's counting down to. You can't say "count...
I can't remember if this is right or not, but don't the 6800 series cards require a larger than standard power supply?
If that's right then your card just might not be getting enough power to function correctly.
Basically a video card with more memory is able to store more texture maps on the card at once, thus allowing it to access the information faster without a drop in performance.
A card with less memory would need to swap data from the system RAM to get access to new textures quickly, e.g...
I seriously thought that when I looked at this thread it was going to be another attempt to somehow convince yourself that the game was coming out earlier than the 16th.
But LATER?
Vivendi is depending on sales from HL2 to stay in business. There's no way they'll stall it past the 16th...
Ok, that seriously makes no sense. Why buy bronze, silver and gold? So you can have the pleasure of preloading it three times?
I could *sort of* understand why you'd want both retail versions, like for collecters and junk; but you're not getting anything extra from preloading the game a bunch...
