Well, i'm not pissed... i've been playing games at extremely high res with beautiful framerates and Anti-aliasing and stuff for over 2 months now :cheese: I couldn't be happier :)
And well, i don't think a radeon 9800 Pro is going to be performance junk within the next year or so.
Personally I don't think it'll ruin the experience for me, i'm not going to use all weapon codes or check out non-e3 levels, i'll just see if it works and how and i'll throw it away
or maybe i'll change my mind and cancel the download because it takes sooo long
Please don't get mad at me, i'm just gonna take a peek and delete everything, i really really REALLY want to check the performance on my system and play with the manipulator in the techdemo :D
Hey cool!!! i saw screenshots of that kangaroo mating movie! cool eh? :D
But wasn't that movie stolen and copied by thieves, and then pre-released? it may not be the final cut.
Too bad those australian kangaroo mating movie makers are suffering because people were too anxious for their movie :@
Adam <> Spitcodfry ??
Adam why are you replying to something d33 asked spitcodfry? are you one and the same?
* My head hurts because of this HL2 playable leak madness *
i just changed my mind, i'm not going to touch the leaked stuff, it's not representative of the final game and may change the experience i'll get the first time i'll play the released hl2
Well..... i'd buy it anyway! And i'm sure i'm not the only one. I even went so far to upgrade my pc because it was to slow for hl2 (850mhz and a geforce 2, now it's a 2600mhz and a R9800pro). Maybe there is a chance i can't resist to try the leaked stuff, i'll still buy the game anyway because i...
maybe some, maybe none. Anyway i think a lot of gamers won't be able to resist it (don't even know for myself yet), and either thousands of people on p2p networks will get viruses in their system or they'll be playing a leaked compiled half-life 2. damn this world is tough :(
:( i don't know whether i should feel excited because there is a leaked playable hl2 version, or whether i should get a headache and feel depressed because the one company, the one game i respected most has been violated and desecrated.
EDIT: It's the 2nd one.
isn't this supposed to be in the benchmark topic? :) just checking, i'm no mod but i saw it here: http://www.halflife2.net/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=10423
I have a PC Gameplay magazine here (i'm from holland), in which it indeed says the first hl2 demos shown were on a 1.8Ghz Pentium 4 and a GeForce4 Ti4200. I guess a ti4200 will run hl2 good since it's a nice card, but not with anti-aliasing and ofcourse without the dx9 effects like HDR and such.
yeah well maybe because they've had 5 years of developement time and were playtesting for a long time too, and they were "oh so certain" at E3 about the september release, and the footage looked so good, and when spitcodfry was there only 2 people seemed even 'busy' with something hl2 related...
No matter what is posted, what is said, i'll see what happens the 30th, and if nothing really happens, not even an announcement from valve on steam or any other way, i'm sending a peaceful, harmonic e-mail to gabe in which i politely and sincerely request information about the reason of this...
Actually, they did give a release date. Watch the E3 vid, at the end an announcement is made that the game will hit store shelves on September 30th, and i'll bet they're sorry they ever said that.
