AvP3

I can't seem to finish any of the AVP1 campaigns without cheating..:(

On Normal difficulty anyway.. Does that make me a bad gamer?

It was considered a pretty unforgiving game when it was released. I remember getting killed frequently when I played the SP when it was released. Going back to it now I'm actually quite surprised how much better at it I am now.

Though I've yet to reach the second part with the facehuggers as the marine, then things are going to get more difficult.

Thanks, now I feel less crappy..

I mean, I beat CoD4 on Veteran, so I can't be all that bad..

Damnit.. I've been spoiled by regenerating health!

My favorite part of AVP2 was as the marine when you get captured and taken prisoner aboard that giant hovering research facility, the entire escape was intense and awesome.

It wasn't hovering was it? IIRC it was attached to the sides of the canyon with very strong supports..

*Poindexter*

Shit, now I'm going to have to buy that game to replay it aren't I. Sigh ...

First ten minutes of the Marine Campaign from AvP 3:-

EDIT:- Video taken down by SEGA.

Wow, other than the fact that the person playing is an idiot it looks like they've got the atmosphere down.

The motion tracker beeping will never cease to creep me the hell out.

If you follow the lnk in the video description on the Youtube page there is the first ten mins of Predator footage as well as some Marine strip club gameplay.

This is my most anticipated game of the year.

Awesome.
It's starting to become my most anticipated game of the year as well, Rebellion just might be able to pull this one off.

This. That motion tracker always made everything more scary. Run to a large automated door and you get scared thinking that you're going to get your brains eaten any second. Great, now I want to get AvP of Steam and play it again.

I hope they keep taunts in the multiplayer.

I loved playing as an alien or predator and toying with other players by taunting constantly and then scaring the shit out of them by suddenly appearing in front of them.

Looking awesome, but that is some awful dialog. Not just campy or macho, but flat out retarded, *Marlow ship blows up completely* *4 Seconds later* "THE MARLOW IS GONE."

Oh?

Yeah, I hate it when the most obvious is pointed out in the worst possible way.

I want to see some Alien gameplay now. I always liked playing them the most because of the speed and maneuverability that they had. I loved crawling all over the walls.

Well, they got the ingame cinematics and atmosphere down. You could feel the tension in the last 30 seconds of the video. I still have some doubts though. I need to see more gameplay before i pass any judgments.

The idiot that was playing the game wasted over a minute to find the lever.

It's no better when he's playing as the Predator. He rushes a load of Marines head on then decides to engage the Aliens in CQB instead of using his ranged weapons.
Prat.

Yeah, they've got the atmosphere down - but the Marine gameplay in that 'club' video looked pretty damn underwhelming to be honest.

It's now available to pre-order on Steam. Which I already did. :D

Looks decent, but WHY WHY did they make glowing items and directions that are not even made properly!? Crisis did it much better and it's also a game designed for the modern *kough*retarded*kough* kids.

I hope you'll have the option to turn it off and i don't plan to play this anything under the highest difficulty level.

Glad I got to see some guy fail to go AROUND a 12-foot barrier for three minutes before it got taken down ;) But it certainly looks amazing. I hope it's got a good PC version.

Too many goddamn kill moves.

Yeah, first with the predator, and now with the damn aliens! It's a non-stop Mortal Kombat fatality from first person! That's gotta get old after a while. I HOPE YOU'RE READING THIS SEGA

Gosh that's terrible! I think the kill moves are sick(not in the good way) and there's just way too much. Also, that video has me disappointed as far as how the Aliens are because they are so slow!
The Aliens are supposed to be lightning fast at everything and it feels like playing Thief(do not get me wrong, I'm a huge fan of the series, but this is AvP) watching these videos. Especially with the 1 minute kill moves. Aren't you supposed to be worried about getting shot to pieces by 10 other marines to worry about taking that long to snack on some brains?

P.S. I was super excited at the start though as he was crawling down the wall and sneaking in for the kill.

I really hope the killmoves are optional like Escape From Butcher Bay. Part of what makes the alien so fun is pouncing from one victim to the other in a matter of seconds, those kill moves really destroy that.

Hopefully they didn't waste most of their animations on repetitive kill moves.
But judging from the footage, the gameplay appears to be very consolized.

You mean square...

Square? Get with the times bro, out of the proper next-gen consoles(i.e. not Wii) the XB360 is the standard! Not the PS3.*Hides from rabid PS3 fanboys and points out he owns both a PS3 and 360*

Also, I recall seeing a German video preview of AvP that stated that the 'kill moves' were indeed optional ala the Riddick games.

I hope that this doesn't turn out to be one of those modern games that do NOT include subtitles, because I hate it when games don't.

Anyway my probs with the marine video.

1. No dynamic shadows from player-flashlight, what the ****? Even Doom 3 did it, even Left 4 Dead!

2. Only limited to one flare at a time.

3. Flares burn out hyper-fast when compared to the original AvP on the PC.

Looks dissappointing IMO, the single-player anyway.

Though I know the vid says it's WIP and subject to change, but still, not far left til it's due to be out in stores..

The vid isn't good advertisement for the game either since the person playing it seems to have an IQ noticably lower than the average joe's.

Just saw the people from Sega (their Dutch HQ is in the same building where I work) play AvP. Looks pretty damn awesome.

So it looks a lot better than the vids linked above then?

Because I wouldn't call the vids linked above for impressive..
