Bad Company 2 Multiplayer Beta

Will the Beta be available no matter what as long as you preorder between Jan 28th-Feb 25?

done and done

Steam version doesn't mention anything about the beta.

You now own Battlefield Bad Company 2 Pre-Order. :D

Can't wait! :D have to get some hl2.net games going!

Pre-order for beta access? How nasty.

I'm not buying it at the full price, I was hoping for a pre-order discount and Four Packs.

It's EA. I never expected a discount or anything.

Maybe the price halfs after a year or so, hopefully there are still people playing the game by then.
What's usual for Battlefield games? I've never owned one.

Battlefield 2 stayed full price for about two years. Enjoy your wait.

Damn, now this is really ****ing with my brain. Maybe I'll just get the retail version which is about 35 euro.

ya stop being a cheapskate and get it!
at the very least you should be buying it to see how well it runs on that sweet setup of yours!

Dont worry guise, the time will come when i blow your brains out. Soon my friends...soon.

Pre-ordered it yesterday.
Sure, I'll post some screenshots in the screenshot thread as soon as I get my dirty hands on it :)

I didn't play the first one, but this looks good... everything I want from Battlefield and pretty too.

If anyone somehow has spare PC keys for the beta, I'd like one.

Otherwise, hopefully it will leak, so I can test how it runs. I can wait till March to play with people, but want to see if I'll be able to ><. Damn preorder betas.

agreed 100%. I've been going back and forth thinking if I should preorder for PC, but I'm starting to lean towards no (friends have 360's, plus I don't know how well my PC will run it). The system requirements for this game seem ridiculously high in comparison to most other games out right now.

I just wanna see how it runs on my PC.

I'm in the same boat as Unfocused. I really like the look of this game, but I'm not entirely sure how well I'll be able to run it (both in terms of my hardware and my internet connection).

I'll be searching for any chance to get a key, but if anyone has a spare I'd love to give this a shot.

Can somebody who has the beta and an 8800GT post their findings on performance, etc. The only thing holding me back from a BC2 purchase is my utter distaste for any type of "Low" setting.

I have an 8800GT and have a strong feeling I can run on medium settings with no AA. If you have a decent processor, you shouldn't have a problem.

i'll let you know

oh duh. Why ask for keys? Just preorder the game and when you get the key cancel the order. The shops should send the keys even after the beta has started.

Does anyone know if it takes more resources than Crysis?

i'll let you know

Awesome, thanks :D

This looks like a game in which I can completely justify spending $50 on, granted I can run it decently (although from what Pitz says, I think it'll be fine).

Does anyone know if it takes more resources than Crysis?
That's a really good question and I don't even think Crysis can support DX11.

Minimum requirements
OS - Windows XP or Windows Vista
Processor - 2.8 GHz or faster (XP) or 3.2 GHz or faster* (Vista)
Memory - 1.0 GB RAM (XP) or 1.5 GB RAM (Vista)
Video Card -256 MB**
Hard Drive - 12GB
Sound Card - DirectX 9.0c compatible

Recommended Requirements
OS - Windows XP / Vista
Processor - Intel Core 2 DUO @ 2.2GHz or AMD Athlon 64 X2 4400+
Memory - 2.0 GB RAM
GPU - NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GTS/640 or similar

For Battlefield Bad Company 2:

Minimum:
OS: Windows XP
Processor: Core 2 DUO @ 2 GHz
Memory: 2 GB
Hard Drive: 15 GB for Digital Version, 10 GB for Disc Version
Video Memory: 256 MB (NVIDIA GeForce 7800GT/ATI X1900)
Sound Card: DirectX Compatible
DirectX: 9.0c
Keyboard and Mouse
DVD Rom Drive

Recommended:
OS: Windows Vista/7
Processor: Any Quadcore Processor
Memory: 2 GB
Hard Drive: 15 GB for Digital Version, 10 GB for Disc Version
Video Memory: 512 MB (NVIDIA GeForce GTX 260)
Sound Card: DirectX Compatible
DirectX: 10
Keyboard and Mouse
DVD Rom Drive

It's basically the same but I would say that Bad Company 2 will run better just because Crysis wasn't optimized at all. We will have to see though and even if you can run it on low or medium, it will still look great. *You can use this website to check if you can run it: http://cyri.systemrequirementslab.com/srtest/ I don't even have the recommended video card but I know it will look kick-ass:

That CanYouRunIt website fails me at the CPU type, cause I have a Dual Core instead of a Core 2 Duo. Is there really a big difference between, say, a Dual Core@2Ghz and a Core2Duo@2Ghz? My Dual Core runs at 2.16Ghz, BTW.

For some reason the test wont work for me, it says "installing component" but nothing happens.

Clap your hands 3 times, spin around (either way) and hit F5. Should work :)

I tried that, i even tried squeezing in a 360 jump while standing on 1 hand, didnt work :(

Then i tried with IE and it worked lol

Try this site to see if you can run it instead of the other one.
http://www.yougamers.com

This is one actually scans your specs more accurately instead of just comparing your hardware.

Don't use any of these sites, but actual benchmarks. PC Games Hardware is usually a good place to see how different GPU's compare(usually not tested with different CPU's, though) in popular games.

According to YouGamers I should be able to run this on high. I'm a bit skeptical as my gfx card is only just above the recommended (8800GTX) and I think its on its way out. I will try it on high though, I wanna see how amazing it looks.

Not long now! Can't wait! :D
