I'm queuing on failplanet for now, but I'm gonna ditch it as soon as I can find a better mirror. I'd torrent it if I could but my ISP throttles the hell out of bittorrent traffic during the day here.
 
The game is pretty heavy. Just played the first game which ended up in a crash. No scores were taken, theres no unlocks in the pc beta? I got a HD4870 and some core2 cpu. Everything else is high but shadows, seems to stutter at large combats.

me too. havent found any other working mirrors yet and steam is only for those who pre-ordered?

If anyone is playing -euro, east coast or Kuwaiti- put the name of the server you're playing on here. Steam overlay supposedly isn't working.

Well after three matches I started getting stats. The game is lagging like hell. I'm warping all around the place.

The metal fences are my nemesis. I get stuck on those all the time and start warping around. Controlling helis/uav's suck compared to PS3, the minichopper just feels too sensitive.

I couldn't find the option for toggle zoom. I never use toggle zoom, only the zoomed while pressed.

Need moar testing.

I have the game up and running but I keep getting connection errors to every server I try to join. Same thing happens with the Play Now button. Off to class until 5:00; after then, HL2.net BC2 action.
 
My ingame name is: Strogg if anyone wants to add.

The game is great, the only thing i dont like is that it takes forever to kill someone, you literally have to pump an entire clip into their body.

Now this is really pissing me off. I start the game, get a black screen for a second and it closes itself without any error message.:flame:

Any suggestions on how to fix this?
 
Judging by your system specs you should be able to run it fine. You have probably done this already but here goes:

Disable Firewall
Update drivers
Update DirectX
Close all other running applications


The game worked for me, but now i cant connect anymore. It says "updating stats" and then "connection was lost" :( Il just wait a bit.

driver, that's all i can think of, seems like many people are having problems.

Yeah, assault rifles especially lack serious oompf. Loving the sounds but they seem so quiet.

Btw I sent out a couple of friends requests.
 
Played for a bit, mostly sniped to get the feel of hit detection and where people run etc. Unfortunately even on low, I'm getting low framerates (15-25), but at least it's not stuttering. That is, unless there's a lag attack.

My main problem, however, was that I was getting artifacts on the screen most of the time, so that didn't look good and it obstructed my view sometimes. I hope that's something that can be fixed.

Also, getting onto a server is tricky and the game may be fine for a few minutes, when all of a sudden there'll be a lag fest.

From the looks of the videos it seems that it takes less bullets to kill someone than in BF2.
 
Getting the connection errors to servers a lot right now. Really irritating.

I'm working with a beta testing group right now so I'm not sure if I can add friends through it (Combat Testing), but once my Steam version is turned on I can people through there.

So infuriating, can't play at all :mad:
 
If you read the little thing at the bottom of the game it says they are aware of the lag issues and they are working on it. Seems like the servers got overloaded rofl

Will they be releasing any fixes during the beta? If yes, does it auto update?
 
Meh, the server browser now crashes the game for me. Probably because the Yanks are coming home from work / school now and starting to play as well.
 
Hopefully by the time I play it tomorrow morning (GMT) all these server and CTD problems will be fixed. :p
 
BTW, I hate when you find a good download link, it gets posted to the internet, and now my dl speed is 1/3 of what it was 5 minutes ago :(

Oh well!

FYI, Pitz, we're going to have to have another battle (this time on the superior system!).

Yes you can.

With regard to auto-updates. Certainly. The retail / non-Steam version for the beta has it's own built in auto-updater. So it seems evident they planned to patch / fix things during the beta. Steam will certainly follow suit.

Yep, server browser crashing the game for me now, most of the time.

Also, I didn't know there wouldn't be the ability to go prone anymore... Also, no k/d in the in-game stats, only at the end of the round?

No prone really confused me at first, i was spamming Z and he wouldn't lie down :(

Getting a crash to desktop if I try to refresh the server browser. The news ticker at the bottom says they're working on a fix.

oh well, it IS a beta afterall
 
well I downloaded the beta from fileplanet and they gave me a key I installed the client but it didn't ask me for the key now when I click connect it tries to connect but it fails.
did i do something wrong or serve4r load to high?
 
No point in trying to play right now guys, theres too many people. Their servers are getting overloaded. They said they are working on a fix right now. Il just wait till tomorrow when they fix the servers on their side.
 
Only managed to play one game, but I liked what I saw.
 
For those talking about Prone:

At first it sucks, but you'll quickly get over the fact. After a bit, you'll forget why you wanted to go Prone to begin with! (Not really, but you just won't care)

I'm hoping the server problems are resolved by the time I get home, I wanna play!
