Well I've discovered that the lag I'm experiencing is no longer due to the beta itself...

I've been doing some more checks of my network, and I get extremely high packet loss (75-100%). I dont suppose anyone would know a way to fix this, if there is any? Last I checked the IT department said something about a gaming partition, but it didnt produce any good results last time...

Find out why you are losing packets. Generally it is a firewall or some ISP bullshit. There is a billion things causing it, find out which one.

You were on a non-ranked server, that's why you have 0 kills.

Thanks, that did the job for me, the reason it didn't work was Steam not supporting DX11(which both my GPU and OS support).
It works fine now with the Steam Beta client.

Played this for a solid few hours last night, alternating with my brother (it was painful watching him play xD)

Really enjoying it now. Although i still suck a moderate amount !

I have a radeon 4890, but i only have a socket 939 X2 4200 dual core running at 2.9, which is too old to really cope that well. This game is obviously heavily processor dependent. The graphics card should eat this game, but it's being held back. Currently playing at 1920 x 1200 with a mix of med and low settings, 20-35fps. Lowering res makes almost no difference.

Upgrade time methinks. You have been a trusty companion socket 939, but i think your time is up.

Anyone else having lots of trouble with aiming in this game?
I already tried adjusting the mouse sensitivity, but it keeps very hard to get the crosshair where I want it to be.

Everybody is asking this, and as of right now no. ALthough, I'm curious....Every FPS I've played *Haven't played many lately that are new..* have been "Hold crouch to crouch"...maybe CS has tainted me, but I thought most were like that?

EDIT: I should point out that I pinged some websites using the cmd, and I get around 50-100% packet loss, yet websites that test this sort of thing detect no packet loss, but very high ping and jitter.

Well, I just checked and I know for sure its not my firewall. It also doesnt have anything to do with my computer (I think) because the wireless network in the residence works totally fine (the problem is that the network can only be reached on the first floor, I'm on the third).

So, is there any way that I could boost the range of my wireless network card to try to pick up the wireless network from here? Or should I be bothering the IT staff about this? Since I am in a residence at university I've been told that the sheer volume of users is what causes the slowdown (which I read is a reason for a high ping and jitter). They have a partition for gaming, but it requires some form of IP address that the game uses (cant remember exactly).

Multiplay UK literally have 200+ servers for the beta. I'm not sure why you can't find them. They are everywhere...like chlamydia.

I realised that after. For some reason the 'server' button at the side of the menu only displays history and favourites but not a list of servers to play on. :\ And there is no way in hell that I've played on that many servers.

Well, even with my shitty connection I still manage to have a good game every now and then...

Just played a round of attacking where I only died twice. A squadmate and I got a good system going in the heavy tank, essentially supressing the enemy infantry and keeping them away from our guys at the charge sites. Ended up with 2000 points or so, and a bunch of medals to boot.

I guess this makes me a tank whore, but right now there isnt much more I can do, as with my connection issues infantry combat is almost impossible for me (have a 0.55 K/D ratio right now).

That was fun btw. We had one really good round on offense. Other than that we had a sucky team.

I don't know if this is a good or bad thing honestly, haven't experienced the other BF games.

Ok I'm starting to get sick of this game.

1. The first part is incredibly hard.
2. Your teamates are retarded 99% of the time.
3. Your teamates don't know how to play the game. They don't listen to the radio that "we have to protect this shit guys!" or ever how to plant/defuse C4.
4. Teamates don't know how to fly.
5. There is a barrage of missiles that come at you if your in a tank.
6. People now recognize you can use the UAV.
7. The Sniper rifle. I plain suck at it or a bullet doesn't down a guy even though it hit him in the neck.
8. The snow map because I have played it so much now.

My biggest hate is the damn mountain top and 90% of your team up there as a sniper and 1 Medic getting heal points with a Assault guy too giving out ammo points. Their stats will be wiped and there is a level cap. Still they stat whore and it's pissing me off! I think the only good thing that a team has a major advantage though is the mortar strike. Some people have whored the sniper so much they get that unlock and it does help. I noticed today in the UAV that people are starting to camp the helipad now like it's a carnival ride. Too bad the UAV can see you though!

Im deeeeeeply enjoying the game. Most people seem to be disoriented lonewolfs, and all they care about is their K/D ratio and going off by themselves. Im playing with a team from ESL so its incredibly fun! When playing defense we rarely even loose the first area. When playing offense we can take it within 1-2 minutes. I can almost hear the people we kill go "WTF, HOW DID THEY..WHAT??? HOW???"

Im in love with the game, its what ive been dreaming of for many years!!!
