Ugh, I hope the demo comes out soon! This game is on my mind constantly.

I can't play any other games really, but lets get some CS:S going to pass the time.

Hell yea. I had just a generic optical before and this is so smooth it's unreal.

I only use the typical Mouse1 & 2 with the wheel (3) 4,5 on the side that can be used for Forward and Back work just fine in games. I like being able to change mouse sensitivity on the fly for sniping The app change is handy too.

Two questions

1) Been asking this a long time got little response. So are there any plans to make part of this serious because kore said that he would like to play in tournaments

2) Are squads going too made on the fly or should some squads be made in these forums?

Side note: Are we going to have euro team vs. America/rest of the world teams? As mentioned before we just invade an empty server and play all together.

That is a bit over the top. Servers cost a lot of money and this whole clan business could just flop and you would have wasted a lot of money.

And you having all the power will lead to corruption in the end

You could run around and kill people but I'd think that a good commander would stay in the command view monitoring every move his team is making in order to properly lead them. Not to mention hanging back as an engineer would be handy so you could repair your own stuff.

If it was really needed you could go out in the field, but I think when I play commander (unless there's just not as much stuff to do as I think) I'll be in commander view the whole time - giving orders, spotting enemy vehicles and troops, coordinating squads to take control points, giving UAV support when needed, dropping supplies in a key firefight, dropping artillery on larger groups of enemies, etc. It seems to me like that'd take all the attention one could give.

We'll see I guess. It's not like when we join a server I'll be able to be commander all the time anyways. I'm sure the servers will be packed with players and everyone will be just itching to try out commander in the beginning so it'll be all but impossible to become one.

I've always liked joining med-sized servers. A 64 player server with like 20-40 players would be ideal, that way everyone from HL2.net could get in and maybe even take up squad leader positions and commander positions before it fills all the way up.

Sometime once we get our squads worked out we'll have to go to an almost empty server just to practice and define our roles more.

EDIT: I've heard that the BFTV feature is only for server hosts. Can individual players record demos at their own free will like in Source?

where did you hear that? BFTV was supposed to be one of the biggest features, and one of the most requested, it would simply be effing retarded if only the server host could take advantage of it.

Q: Can you give us full details of how BFTV Recorder will function? How big are the files for say 45 minutes of gameplay footage? Is it simple and easy to use?
A: The BFTV Recorder will function on the server side, as the server will be recording everything. The size matters on how long you are recording and the quality of settings you have on. It is simple and easy to use.

I've heard different terms used...BFTV and the BF Recorder...are they different things? Is BF Recorder something that anybody can activate and BFTV something used for like clan matches and whatnot? Am I smoking crack?

Ok guys I dont want to make a new thread but no one seems to be answering most questions being asked. I have a question for gorgon.

My friend has Dual 6800Gt's a 3.2 ghz P4 and 1gig of ram. Its an alienware aurora I think. He has everything maxed out in CS yet his fps is only around 50 and it also does not look as good as mine is maxed (I have p4 3.2, 1 gig ram, but just 1 9800XT). It also seems like he has AA off even though its maxed out. Very wierd how can I help him?

To start another discussion: the new Gamespot preview mentioned the lack of scope drift again. This does worry me a bit. Sniping shouldn't be too easy. It was a real problem in JointOps; more than half of each team was lying prone on a hill overlooking an enemy spawn point. Spawning was a very dangerous affair that way. As soon as you entered you had to run for cover. Hopefully DICE decides to add more scope drift in a patch.

I don't really like being a sniper anyways. I like to get into the action and take flags! I hope most BF2 players feel the same way. In BF1942, Omaha Beach was littered with snipers. I always hated that. Once again, I hope things have changed. :thumbs:

Personally Im looking forward to driving the jeep as a medic, driving my team around places. This is good for many reasons!

Medic does not have good long range fire power, thus driver is good
While driving (Or using one of the gunners seats) people around will gain health.
Of course the speed of going around the map.. Pressing forward or retreating

I would seriously consider getting BF2, if I didn't have such a bad computer... well, bad video card. It makes me depressed, 32 mb N-Vidia. Everything else is ok, I might need to get more RAM, that's it. I think I'll just go over to Datrix's house to play, if it works on his. Maybe if I get more money I'll upgrade. So, for now, all I can do is soak up the videos, and drool over what I can't have.

That list is how many times people have posted in this thread, not one of the squads. I'm not sure that we're even having fixed squads, are we? I think just playing from the pool would be better.

well you can't just pick and place people in squads as of now, a real squad meshes together... and the only way you are going to be able to see if your playstyle matches others is when you play together.

squad placement based on forum chat is pointless imo.
best just to all get on a server and see who fits where, and with who.

however eventually I would like to group up with 5 other core members that work together and play often, and group with them as much as possible... but that's just my dream
