Yah. A lot of the efficacy of that humor came from the player's sense of vulnerability and isolation - no weapons, and no other people in the facility. In HL2, there's none of that - the player has a huge arsenal, from an assortment of machine guns to a rocket launcher, and the entire human resistance as allies.Glados, whilst being part of the HL universe, just doesn't fit in the main series. Her caustic black humour just doesn't quite fit in with the mood of HL2. It worked beautifully in Portal, partly because that was a blank slate and we had no iddea what to expect. Ep3 is very different.
