That's a funny way of wording it, but I can see where you're coming from. Time progresses in a linear fashion - as far as we can tell (there are theories that go against this, but there are theories that go against everything ) everything happens only once, therefore whatever happens is the only thing that can happen. The element of "possibility" is impossible to even prove the existance of. It does seem pretty clear to me that the universe operates in a deterministic manner (for reasons I'm sure you've thought about, having come to that conclusion). I guess, then, despite smaller, more specific disagreeances, we fundamentally agree....Originally posted by MrD

As a development: It just occurred to me that everything must be pre-determinable, otherwise there would be no way for the universe to determine it! (and hence move us all constantly forward in time)
