Fallout: New Vegas just became a whole lot more awesome

When I saw the silly recon armour on the Western Brotherhood, I decided to fix that oversight and provide them with some proper protection.

Thus, the idea to bring back the Brotherhood combat armour was born and being the OCD bastard I am, I decided to bring it back (and the fond memories along with it.

Opinions? I tried to make it as close to the original inventory image as possible.

Major Major Major spoiler, don't look if you haven't beaten the game/don't want everything ruined.

I killed off Mr. House and got Yes Man to run Vegas. I really love the NCR though, and would rather work with them then anything. I don't know what I'm exactly supposed to do now though, Yes Man is the only one who I have a quest for and the NCR have no work

Did you not get an NCR quest that sends you to Hoover Dam? IIRC Major Hsu in Camp McCaran gives it to you once you've finished all or most of the quests in that area. (I don't think the bounties count)

accidentally stumbled across deathclaw central yesterday, managed to one-shot most young 'claws from a nicedistance but decided to stop, turn and get outta there when i saw a deathclaw and what i presume to be a deathclaw mother patrolling about near some quarry trains. luckily they didn't pursue.

also did the camp guardian quest which was quite fun. could of been a lot more eerie, but ah well.

I did a few quests at McCaran, but didn't get the Hoover Dam quest. I may just have to go and check back again though.

Where is said quest given/by who?

it's not given (i don't think), i found it out of the blue whilst exploring. just a bit north-east of hoover dam, like literally across the lake from it. should receive a radio transmission when you get near it.

You one-shotted young deathclaws? You a really high lvl or sumit? Can't do any dmg against them atm.

level 10, sneak critical with hunting rifle loaded with armor piercing rounds. got around 4 or 5 of them in the quarry before i bugged out. nail them from several hundred yards in iron sights if the rifle is in good condition, or just get lucky with VATS.

deathclaws, however, take a little more than that.

Would it be worth buying Fallout 3 GOTY?

I assume there are some good mods for it also?

Wow, companion AI can be unintentionally hilarious at times. Boone has been great so far, keeping his distance behind me like I ordered, one-shotting most enemies. He was perfect for camping the hills overlooking the NCRCF f.e.

I decided I'd try and use his abilities to kill some Deathclaws at their camp. I took up position on rocks overlooking the camp. He was able to follow me despite some awkward pathfinding. Start engaging some Deathclaws. Boone puts away his rifle, equips a fire-axe. Jumps down off the rocks and charges the Deathclaws. Instant unconscious.

Protip: don't give companions nades to carry. ''derp we're inside in a tight corridor with mutants, Equ1p TEh NADEZZZ herpderp''.

Btw, just found a secret bunker for a certain group from past fallouts.

Boone broke in my game.. I got to New Vegas, and when I go into casinos they take my weapons, sure, but they also took Boone's rifle. When I left, it got placed into my inventory. So he can't use his gun. And the machete isn't all that great.

I made him go back to Novac and now have the one chick with the power fist.

Did anyone else got entire NCR correctional facility turning hostile to you? Even if I wear powder gang outfit, they just turn hostile for absolutely no ****ing reason.

Oh, I thought you meant the NCR turned hostile to you.

Dunno man, could be another glitch, could be something you did to them....

Well I helped out Ringo and killed bunch of powder punks back in goodspring in one of the mission. Probably that's why?

Yea thats probably the reason. I ran across a Powder Gang patrol right after that quest and they were not happy.

the powder gangers trust system is bizarre. i know they all split into different groups when they broke out, but that doesn't make it any less confusing or easy to NOT get shot at by random strays in the desert and then run errands for another group in the facility or someplace else. i was on good terms with them until i killed a whole group somewhere west and then i was vilified from the community.

****ing awkward gang brotherhood.

Spoiler alert! Do not click unless you have completed the Ring-a-Ding-Dong! Quest line.

Steal my platinum Chip you bastard!

The majority of the side quests are completely bugged. You got quests that are intertwined with other quests. If you don't complete it in a certain way, you'll end up bugging the other one. Thus being unable to complete either one. Then you have quests like the Traitor/Monorail one at Camp McCarran. No matter what choices you make or how you approach it, you end up with the same result. Just check out Fallout's wiki. It's ridden with bug notes for each quest. Each one of the quest's is bugged in some way or another. I feel sorry anybody who bought the console version of this game. At least in the PC version there are numerous console commands to overcome some of these issues. Bethesda should be ashamed for releasing this cluster**** of a bugfest. There should be laws for this kind of shit.

BTW, how does the karma system work? Does it work like previous Fallout game which all people react according to your karma, or does it differ from town to town?

Ex: If I steal bunch of things from goodspring, will my karma only reflect according to this town only?

Karma and reputation are different. Reputation deals with how specific groups see you and will react to you, and Karma is just how good you are in a broad scale. Individual reactions depend on the other person's faction and your reputation with them. Like a slightly better Clear Sky.

I've found Karma to be generally useless in this game, as people don't react to it.

30+ hours, no bugs still :S

Really? I've frozen 4 times and had a lot more graphical issues. (PS3)

Seriously now, how the **** do you get into the Boomers base?

I get up to the ****ing gate, but the guard has his back turned so I never get a goddamn dialogue option. I can't get in and do the ****ing quests, one of which I was really looking forward to.

Before its suggested, yes I have tried to fast travel away and come back. No luck.

Fix your ****ing game Bethesda, jesus **** monkeys.

PC Here

6 crashes and a couple graphical glitches. Still a great game but it gets really tiring.

The only problem I did have was the performance problem, which was fixed by that .dll file.

PC: No performance issues aside from pop-in and its related hitching. No crashes. It even alt-tabs more nicely than a lot of other games I've played.

Downside: Quests and VATS are kinda buggy.

Upside: Hardcore mode is a lot of fun.

I've had buggy and stutter and hick up problems. Can't play this game on ultra, have to play it on high to not get hick up problems. This game crashed on me 3 times.

I really enjoy this game, but I just can't get into it any more. Even on dead lowest settings, it won't pass 25fps. And I should be playing it on high settings at the minimum. I never have crashes or other issues, just a low framerate nearly all the time. It makes combat near impossible since I can't line up any shots. (Though, Boone seems to fix that. Anything aggressive falls over headless if it gets within 10 feet of me)

I genuinely wish Bethesda never bought the rights to FallOut. We wouldn't be dealing with this BS excuse they call an engine.

GameBryo isn't a game engine so much as a game obstacle.

Game seems to get worse and worse as I progress. Keep stumbling upon more and more invisible walls, people not responding the right way to my choices, disguises not working, etc.
The new features(opposed to Fallout 3) seem to be not nearly as well-working as the ones copied over, like they were coded by a team of beginning programmers.

Looks like I'm gonna wait until this game gets patched up before buying it. I hope and pray this is Gamebryo's last game.

Epic Mickey and Ragnarok Online 2: Legend of the Second have yet to be released and still use Gamebryo but it does look like it's days are numbered.

Divinity 2: Ego Draconis uses Gamebryo.
And, by the way, the engine itself is not from Bethesda. Beth and Obsidian are using it, just as Irrational used Unreal Engine for Bioshock.

Just mt 2 cents: it's too easy to put the blame on the engine. Bug hunting and quality assurance are developers' responsibility.
