Fallout: New Vegas just became a whole lot more awesome

Rented a room at the Vault 21 hotel, went to sleep for a few hours.

Woke up to 3 men in the room, one sleeping on the other bed, the other one using the computer, and the other one just walking around.

WHAT??????

WHOSE ROOM DO YOU GUYS THINK THIS IS?

Game seems to get worse and worse as I progress. Keep stumbling upon more and more invisible walls, people not responding the right way to my choices, disguises not working, etc.
The new features(opposed to Fallout 3) seem to be not nearly as well-working as the ones copied over, like they were coded by a team of beginning programmers.

You sure your version is legit?

So, I sorta lost Veronica. Anyone know if there's an easy way to find your companion? I still have the perk, so I know she's not dead.

She's been lost for hours now. I've been in buildings a lot.

I think, player.moveto e32a9

Haven't tried it myself.

She'll probably revert back to a certain place in a couple of days. Just wait it out.

That she did, just a few minutes ago. Took long enough.

Also, Vault 11.

****ing LOL.

Vault 34 stuff

Vault 34 is a ****ing nightmare. Constant radiation and shit performance with my PC with all the ****ing clutter everywhere. Tis a bitch killin them ghouls.

34 is supposed hold some of the best weapons in the game
Including a unique Marksman Carbine dedicated to the 82nd Airborne Division
like the Anti-Material Rifle (you can buy it for 7700 caps otherwise)

I just made it all the way through Vault 11. ****ing LOL indeed D:
Got into the sacrifical chamber, and killed all the robots and turrets (took about 20 tries) and found the entries on the mainframe. That's a horrible ending. Also, it made me fail 'The House Always Wins' quest. wtf? >.>

Replying to Eversor's post:
yeah, the robots and turrets are Lucky 38 (or whatever Mr. House's casino is) Faction

If you're having crashes, performance issues etc.

-Edit-
#15 fixed the random crashes for me. Un-check "Read Only" before you apply the lines to the .ini file. You won't be able to save it otherwise. You also have do the same to the Fallout_default.ini file located in the main folder of the game, or it will revert the changes after you exit the game.

The .dll file should increase your performance drastically http://www.newvegasnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=34778

So, I'm

Trying to kill Legate Lanius but it seems like this game just had a difficulty spike. I must be underleveled, or something, because no matter what I try he just kicks my ass. It certainly doesn't help he gets magical reinforcements.

I downloaded the Realistic Weapon's Damage mod, unfortunately it isn't as awesome as the FO3 version, shit like Caesar still takes like 20 magnum headshots to kill while in FO3 almost EVERYTHING died in 1 pistol headshot if they didn't have a helmet. Looking into the GECK to see if I can change some values to fix it...

God damn I love the sniper rifle. Perfect condition = 7 dead Giant radscorpions. Mother ****ers.

What the **** is up with the reputation bug? Took me long time to get my reputation with NCR to accepted and now the entire faction reputation is gone.

You wearing any NCR faction armor? That'll cause the actual reputation for them not show up in your Pip-Boy.

If you wear faction armour, it basically resets your reputation with all factions. Think of it like a different persona; for example, my character without faction-specific armour is villified by the Powder Gangers and couldn't get close to NCRCF without getting his goddamn head shot right the **** off, but his alter-ego Powder Ganger Courier could get in just fine (and on my reputation for them it read "neutral").

I like how his mask kinda melts into his torso, and how the pouches are big enough to hold a box of tictacs at best.

What armour is the guy wearing on the front cover of the game case?

Divinity 2: Ego Draconis uses Gamebryo.
And, by the way, the engine itself is not from Bethesda. Beth and Obsidian are using it, just as Irrational used Unreal Engine for Bioshock.

Just mt 2 cents: it's too easy to put the blame on the engine. Bug hunting and quality assurance are developers' responsibility.

The Gamebryo engine isn't technically theirs, but they heavily, HEAVILY modified it for Oblivion. Then they've been using that version for these Fallout games, with a few tweaks here and there. The persistent bugs are part of that initially modified version of the engine Bethesda made. So its not entirely inaccurate to say its "the engine" that sucks, since the version of Gamebryo being refereed to is obviously Bethesda's version, which isn't even recognizable to other versions, like the one used for Civ5. The sentiment that Bethesda needs to drop this engine is still legitimate. They could use the gamebryo engine again, so long as they rebuild it anew, but this current version they're using is god awful.

I'd prefer Bethesda to try to make use of id Tech instead, given that Bethesda and id Tech are now owned by the same company.

Apparently, id Tech's new engine can't make day to night transitions from what i have heard.

It is not comparable to Fallout as far as I know, seeing as it in previews sounds like it is very much a linear experience.

I quote from that page, "Tim Willits stated that at the game's core is a first person shooter with car-combat added in"

Sounds a lot more like Borderlands to me rather than Fallout.

I am expecting an FPS with racing sections coupled with very light RPG elements, not at all comparable to New Vegas in my opinion. Especially given that, as I noted before, there doesn't seem to be any emphasis on exploration, rather getting from point A to point B, though there might be a few different ways to get there.

I've just been to Vault 11. Holy shit. I've seen really dark, depressing stuff before, but this takes the cake.

Can't we start putting things in spoiler tags? Just because you (not anyone in particular) have come to a point doesn't mean that everyone else has :/. Put up a small spoiler-free description before the spoiler so those who've already done it can read it if they want. I'd really like to read/partake in this discussion about New Vegas but every time I enter this thread something gets spoiled, whether it be minor or not, it kills part of the experience knowing stuff beforehand.

By the way, anyone else have a problem with input lag? Sometimes an input can be delayed in combat for up to 3 seconds. It seems to happen mostly after reloading with the cowboy repeater or a similar weapon (like the trail carbine) and it's extremely annoying.

Yeah I get this sometimes. I press V to got into VATS and nothing happens for a few seconds, cant shoot or anything, all I can do is move. Could have been pretty deadly a few times if I hadn't had companions!

Ugh, I have the same problem since I'm maining the Cowboy Rifle right now. It seems to happen after exiting VATS targeting, including by confirming your targets. I've died at least four times because of this. It's like it always happens when there's that critical mass of enemy firepower to take you down.

I haven't used VATS at all in this game, **** yeah hardcore 'very hard' mode. **** that pussy shit. And with RWD mod, your bitch ass dies in 1 headshot or just a few body shots. Yeah you know I maxed out the sneak skill, gotta play this shit as realistically as possible. That's to say, dehydrated as hell, sneaking behind bitches and for kicks, clubbing them in the head with a rebar club if I was feelin spunky. Love smashing heads in with that shit. And OMG I love magnum revolvers. KER-SPLAT GOES THE HEAD YOU HAVE BEEN SHUNNED BY THE NCR DUE TO YOUR VILE NATURE :(.

HAPPY HALLOWEEN

Spent +70 hours in the game. It's a worthy sequel to Fallout 2, with excellent writing, dark humour, and memorable characters/companions. There is many references to the old games (some are cheesy, but it's okay), haven't heard anything about the Tactics though.

There was one major bug I've encountered through my entire adventure:

Lucky 38 robots were hostile for me. I made a temporary fix using GECK, and console - also posted it to Wikia. Mr. House (the computer version) didn't talk with me for some reason. He doesn't have a NPC ID like the robots, so I didn't manage to fix him. So yeah, I had to kill him. I think I got a good ending.
