HBO gave ASoIaF pilot the greenlight

Pretty sure there'll be nudez. Saw a facebook update from a friend's friend saying she was going to be a body double on some "new HBO pilot being filmed in belfast" a while back.

She still looks pretty young, despite being 22(3?). Doesn't look 13, but still young.

Is that from the show or something else? Because there's some colouration problems if that's what she's going to look like in the show.

Nah, its from that show The Tutors I think.

It sounds like Merchant is out as Dany, which is a shame. Very good looking and supposedly an excellent actress. I wonder who will replace her. They will have to reshoot the pilot/ep1 because of the new actresses for Catelyn and Dany, and also because of how all the kids will have noticeably aged. If they don't, the children will visibly grow older betwen episodes 1 and 2, which would, needless to say, look damned peculiar. Despite these difficulties, the series does seem to be moving forward. Most of the news is encouraging.

By far. They should have vegeta cast the part.

WHY HASN'T ANYONE SAID ANYTHING ABOUT THIS?! Am I the only one who liked the teaser or something?

Photography's too stark.

Comment not only an excuse for a pun.

They showed so little that there's not much to comment on beyond Sean Bean looking absolutely perfect as Eddard Stark.

A little earlier than I imagined. If they can make a quality product in that time, I'm all for it.

HBO says something related to Game of Thrones will be shown before this Sunday's True Blood finale.

HBO has sent out an email and a tweet indicating that Game of Thrones will be included in their preview of upcoming shows prior to Sunday’s True Blood finale. Look for it to start at 8:40 PM. If it is anything like last time, the East Coast will get it before the West Coast. And Canada won’t get it at all. Thankfully HBO has assured us that they will post whatever they show to their site immediately after it airs. They’ve also promised a brand new Thrones promo image!

Winter Is Coming: There was no indication in the email of whether this will be a new trailer, a behind-the-scenes feature or just a re-air of the teaser. They should have enough footage to do a full-trailer, if they want to. Ran over at Westeros has heard that there apparently exists a longer trailer internally at HBO, but does not know if they plan to air that this Sunday or not. Personally, I’m hoping for a full trailer, but I’d also be plenty excited to see some behind-the-scenes stuff. I doubt they would just re-air the teaser, but I guess it is possible. Either way, we’re definitely getting a new photo, so only two more days until new Thrones media!

Unfortunately, I don't have HBO yet (getting it for GoT for sure though) so I'll have to wait for it to be posted on hbo.com. Hopefully they do it quickly.

Jaime's armour is pretty plain. I guess Martin's descriptions were a bit too expensive. Re-reading A Storm of Swords right now. I love Davos so much.
I hope he's still alive.

Books don't have a budget. Television series do. I for one have been pretty impressed with the production values so far.

He has multiple sets of armor, if I recall correctly. I doubt thats his Kingsguard suit or golden suit.

I know he has more than one suit of armour, but his armour tends to be pretty extravagant. I can see them thinking that golden armour mightn't look good or might seem to silly for TV though.

Yeah. Even when reading it, I always felt he'd look a bit silly in a golden suit of armor.

It isn't like the midget casting pool is very big in Hollywood anyway, so even if he didn't look perfect, you'd just have to deal with it. It was either gonna be him, Warwick Davis, or Verne Troyer. Does your script call for a little person? YOU'VE GOT THREE CHOICES.

Going to begin reading this series next week.
Seems pretty damn interesting from what little I know about it so far.

That only makes it more impressive.

Riom, does it not let you watch it or something? Try this.

Why do I have to keep double posting? Everyone should be shitting themselves over this show like they do with Dexter, The Walking Dead and Breaking Bad. In fact, you should be shitting even more, because this is going to be better than all of those.

12 minute preview of the show:

Everything looks fantastic... well, almost everything. From the few clips they showed of the fight scenes, they look pretty bad. They're so clearly 'fake fighting' that its painful to see. In the shot where Jon is sparring with the other Nights Watch members, he throws a punch that VERY clearly was a whiff but the guy reels back like he was hit by a bus, and in the shot where Tyrion and gang are ambushed on the road to the Eyrie, one of the barbarians or whatever pretends to stab at someone, but he stabs like three feet to the right of the guy hes attacking. Just... bad.
