Hollywood actor Heath Ledger died of an accidental overdose of prescription drugs, the New York City medical examiner's office has ruled.

The actor, 28, was found dead at an apartment he had been renting for several months in Manhattan.

A spokeswoman for the medical examiner said Ledger died "as the result of acute intoxication by the combined effects" of six different drugs.

no not at all ..none of those drugs by themselves are anywhere near lethal unless taken in mass quantities ..he could have had a high toxicity in his blood from weeks or months of being on the meds which were prescribed by a doctor ..they usually dont give you drugs that conflict with each other ...he mixed too much of it at the same time as the autopsy showed it was accidental meaning he hadnt taken large quantities

The singular death of an individual has a name and a face that most people can attach to it. The multitudes of people who die regularly in Africa? It's a number with a string of 0's. Its statement of human death doesn't resonate as strongly, even if it is objectively worse.
