Why? Its an AEG, its got a short barrel and a 1000+ round magazine. Most sites only let you have silly FPS on sniper rifles if they're single shot bolties and that screaming gearbox and the rounds rattling round in that mag are going to give away your position. Also you can build one yourself for substantially less than what Redwolf will charge you. But with the robust gearbox and that large capacity it would make a good lightweight/CQB support weapon.

Its airsoft, you don't really need a magnifying scope, the only thing its properly useful is spotting. As for bipods most people who have them on sniper rifles don't use them most of the time so they're just adding weight to the front of the weapon, upsetting your balance and throwing off your aim.

Also, while the DSR-1 does look pretty, its actually pretty crap as a sniper weapon as the gas used to power it means that the shots arn't consistent meaning one cannot accurately zero the sights because every shot comes out at a different velocity.

Meh... I quite like the modern look of current weapons. Wooden parts and Chrome colors aren't my type.

However, I make an exception for the Lee-Enfield. It'd not 'sexy', but it looks well enough.

Good luck using one in the winter. Also, gas in mag systems are too expenisve to buy spare magazines for, they don't have consistent power so you can't zero your sights, suffer from cooldown when fired rapidly and they don't work in the cold. Gas guns are only really practical for pistols & SMGs, their power isn't consistent enough for long range work.

The only practical options for full automatic long arms are AEGs and Classics running off air rigs. But that said I wouldn't trade my gas MAC-11 in for an electric version. Its much too fun.

I'm not really into airsoft for the playing, to be honest. I just like gun porn, and plinking is enough for me.

Gas guns are awesome. I've never had a rifle, but I hear you get an entirely different feeling with them. Hanguns are definately cool, especially seeing the moving parts of the gun.
