Uhh, they've not even properly announced these yet, so unless you're on a long pre-ordering wait, there's no way you can be getting one.

Alienware shows that they have and are shipping systems with PCI Express as well as DDR2 ram. :smoking:

everyone buying these 9800s...but i need that card (if i get it) to last me 2 years.. :(

so i think ill wait till xmas or some crazy price on a 6800 or x800 :afro:

I don't recall hearing anyone being able to buy/contact go-l.. also, their checkout system isn't even secure.. makes it even more fishy

I am still waiting for a game to test my system besides farcry. Another words my machine is more then enough ready for half life 2

they deal with what they call" exclusive customers" ie.. the super rich, u gotta have inside help to get one.

thier like real expensive cars the company only makes em for certain individuals.

Athlon 1500+, 512MB RAM, Radeon 9000 is enough to play today's games with medium-to-high details in resolutions 800x600 and 1024x768. I'm not used to playing with FSAA, so this system is enough for me ;)
I have 256MB RAM at the moment, but I'm going to upgrade soon :p

AMD Athalon 2.0ghz (it's like 2400+ or something :p )
256mb of RAM
128mb Radeon 9200

Sure...it'll run HL2...but it wont run it good.

...well, it'd be decent with 256mb more ram. Along with a defragment and clearing off any spyware/adware before I play...wont help it much, but every bit helps for that day long gaming session - unless I'm back at college...then I skip ...stuff (you know, I forgot which courses I'm taking next semester, aha).

HL2 contributes to student absentee rates!
[I see the headlines now...]

Pentium 4 2545 mhz
256 mb ram
64 mb radeon 9000

Guess my pc will run it good enough but i dno.

Where's the promised HL2Benchmark, eh? It's about time to release it!!

Depending on how much spyware/adware you have. It can make DRASTIC changes. heh. I mean. like going from win 3.1 to win xp pro drastic.

Im looking into a laptop for college... and i want to be able to play HL2. Would this run it nicely?

AMD Athlon 64 3000+
1024 MB Ram
80GB HD
ATI 9700 Pro

The laptop will run juuuuust fine. But you NEED to get a verrrry good mouse

I just got my laptop yesterday...

1.7 GHz Pentium M
Mobility 9700 Pro
7200 RPM Hard Drive
1024 2700 RAM

It can run Far Cry at 1400x1050 resolution with all settings on 'high', and UT2004 with max settings at 1024x768 (it can go higher, but can start to drop off a bit in larger DM games, so I keep it lower). So I'd say as long as you make sure your hard drive is at least 7200 RPM, that'd be great! I went for the Pentium M for the battery life (and built-in wireless is nice), myself (I used it for over an hour surfing, using Photoshop, and installing software and the battery hadn't even lost 1/4 of its power. :D)

Sigh ... mine is definatly not ready: TNT2ultra 32meg, PIII 667mHz, 128SDRAM

Anyone feeling generous? I'm saving my money for a big trip to south-east asia next year so I'm gonna pass on any hardware upgrade unless it falls out of the sky.

Intel Pentium 4 3.0Ghz 800FSB
Asus P4C800-Deluxe
1Gb OCZ Dual Channel DDR PC3200 (2.5-2-3-5)
Sapphire Radeon 9800XT 256Mb
Western Digital 80Gb SE 8Mb
SoundBlaster Live! X-Gamer

so what was that?

right now my computer is perfect but my graphic card is shit so im going to get a 9800 pro 128 mb... the rest of my computer is good

Just purchased a radon 9600 sxe, I really hope it will work. BF1942 works fine with all high levels, i hope HL2 will as well.

Athlon XP [email protected] (@268mhz FSB)
1 gig of PC 2700 333mhz DDR
Radeon 9800 Pro 128 (ICEQ)
7200rpm hd, think its a western digital
Windows XP Home

hoping to run Hl2 all bells and whistles without it jerking or paging anywhere... i can play far cry on pretty good fps consistenly but i'm hoping Hl2 will run better than that cause i am relying on valve to optimize the code a lot more than in Far Cry :)

OFCOURS!

currently

2.8C (stock still)
512ddr ram
9800pro
5.1 + 5.1 reciever via optical out and spekaers 5.1
50" hdtv via DVI
mouse&keyboard :D :D

soon ill change the proccy to 3.6 or 3.4E and ram to 1gig and videocard to x800xt.

I have a 9700 PRO right now so I should be ok. Wish I could upgrade to an x800.

Right now I'm sitting at:

Pentium 4 2.8Ghz
Asus P4P800-E Mobo
512mb dual channel kingston ram
Onboard sound (just as good as SBLive @ the moment, but i'm still deciding whether i want to though in my SBLive 5.1)
Asus GeForce 3 Ti200 64mb

All i need is a new video card and i'm set.

All good except I need a better card.

GeForce 2 MX integrated does NOT cut it.

I'm guessing full detail or close to it.

Athlon 2400+
1GB DDR400
9800 pro
SBLive 5.1

3000+
9800pro
1 Gig of ram

Now all i need is the damn game :D!! patience, patience....

Muahahah..Ill have my new comp this summer
Specs :
P4 3.2ghz
1GiG RAM
Radeon X800 XT
160GO
Sound Blaster Gamers Edition :)
Bah, Ill be ready :D

Previous Specs:
Athlon XP 1800+
512mb ram
geforce3 ti 200

After upgrades which are on thier way:
Athlon XP 2600+
1GB ram
Radeon 9800 pro 128mb.

I think it'll play alright. :)

3.0 GHZ Intel P4
Sapphire Radeon 9800 Pro (Unclocked for the time being)
512 MB Ram
Oh, and my Mobo is extremly good. (Note: Good, not expensive).
