yay!!!! ..oh some of you liked it .. artist, arteur, genius, living legend and director extraordinaire Michael Bay says he will not do Transformers 2 because Paramount is dropping Blu-ray ..

I want people to see my movies in the best formats possible. For them to deny people who have Blu-ray sucks! They were progressive by having two formats. No Transformers 2 for me!

<stifled laughter> they'll have a very difficult time filling his giant shoes, perhaps they can hire some film student or give the camera to some homelsss drunk guy ..shakey cam ftw

did you get just get struck by lightning for saying that?

The odds of there NOT being a Transformers 2 are really bad, but this might dictate when or who directs it. Not sure if its a good turn or not though.

Stupid Blooray and Hud-Doovde

ok I concede that if they give the camera to a drunk homeless guy to direct transformers 2 it'll be worse than the first one ..but only by a marginal amount ...let this be a lesson to you would be directors trying to cash in on half baked ideas based on intellectual properties that should be long dead and buried due to their overly banal mediocrity

Why Cronenberg?

Because he loves the interplay between man and machine. Nothing would beat the sight of Optimus Prime folding backwards and revealing his gooey, pulsing organs as a phallic member erects from the fleshy folds to penetrate Megatron's abdomen as they both writhe around in sexual ecstasy while massaging each others' stomach genitalia in order to form THE NEW FLESH.

I am not really being serious here. But I'll be damned if the end product wouldn't be real interesting if Cronenberg's sickening tendrils grabbed hold of the franchise.

No Transformers too?

That's a good thing. My internet bandwidth can only handle so much...

Good.

This is like Uwe Boll refusing to do Alone in the Dark 2. As if Paramount gives a crap what the 3rd-4th BIGGEST hack in HollyWood has to say. I'm sure someone else would love to direct Transformers 2.

I lol'd because it's da trufe!

Sorry last time I checked I don't need a PS3 to go to the movies :|

That is, by far, the most insane and ridiculous thing I have ever heard. You rock.

uwe boll is getting his chance right now

I want a Transformers 2 :(

I love the G1 series I loved the G2 I loved Beat Wars, I loved the first Cartoon remake, but i hated the ones after.

Transformers, while not 100% accurate to the series, was still a very entertaining movie. After all, that's what we go to the movies for right? To be entertained?

Your point is inane.

Some don't find it entertaining whatsoever. That's what people said about 300; "oh, just enjoy the action." No, because the action itself sucked and some people don't enjoy stuff so straight forward.

I wonder if stern likes anything.

I like how I'm the topic of conversation in every thread I start ..so that's something right?

..but if you're willing to take me to task and attack my reasoning for disliking things you're more than welcome ..I mean heaven forbid you actually pay attention to what I write about ..no that would be too much work

we now return to the regularly scheduled program: How to attack the messenger and ignore the message

Oh dear, Stern doesn't like something that sucks. Guess he should just pack his bags and go.

I hate leaving HATEHATEHATE ..sorry DISLIKEDISLIKEDISLIKE

We end up not talking about your topics because half are all the same and the other half aren't worth talking about.

Anyway, I've just never seen you react positively to anything. Except Conan, I forgot about that one.

yet you feel the need to post in a thread that's both redundent AND not worth talking about ...yup that makes a heck of a lot of sense

and it's not we as in we the community ..it's you and a handful of likeminded malcontents who are content to fling poo from the sidelines rather than confront me head on

Anyway, I've just never seen you react positively to anything. Except Conan, I forgot about that one.

what are you keep a ruinning tab? what the hell do you know about what I like or dont like ..you have no clue who I am ..again you're more than welcome to call me up on the statements I make but that would be too much to ask; you'd rather take the easy route out and just shoot the messenger instead of dealing with the message ...most likely because you couldnt mount an effective defense if you tried

Enough. Que, shut up, you don't like Stern, we get it. I want less of this "We" when speaking in terms of Stern, because it's a load of shit. There's like, a handful of you, and if this goes on for any longer you are going to start facing infractions. If you don't like the thread, don't post; you can actually turn on the ignore feature. You don't like the thread, because apparently they are half the same, yet you do the exact same and repeat the same inane remarks as the last thread. Just shut up and put up.

Back on topic.

He changed his mind, you know. "I think I might be back on to do Transformers 2!" That's good news to me at least. I know what Stern and Samon and whoever else says. I don't give a flying f*ck. Second greatest movie ever, and I'll say it on my deathbed. I'm already slighty disappointed at the fact that the original scriptwriters, who were huge transfans, are not writing the script for the sequels. I don't know whose hands that'll fall into. At the very least I know how Bay handled the Transformers movie and I'm extremely comfortable with how he did the movie.

Shit, if he hadn't backtracked on his own post I'd be off to Hollywood right now to buy some rights. I'D film the f*cking movie. No one will miss out on the Dinobots, Devastator (the real gestalt Devastator, not the tank...that was a screw-up, his name will be Brawl on the DVD), possibly Superion, and whatever that aircraft carrier bot's gonna be. Because that's what Bay had in store.

I'm apologizing to stern publicly so he doesn't give me any crap about it. Bleagh.

See? I'm a nice guy.

@ Darkside: I may regret asking you this ..but what do consider to be the best movie (transformers is second best)

oh and as much I may sound like I hate the transformers I really dont, i havent seen the movie and wasnt a fan of the toys/cartoons ..I try not to think about it all that much ..I just like ribbing you a bit (all in good fun, no hard feelings) plus I'm not a big fan of hollywood scholck/big budgeted michael bay mindless explosion orgy cum extraveganza ..it's as much to do with the travesty that is Michael Bay as it is the transformers ..Bay is indicative of what is wrong with hollywood: all style no substance

YOU HAVEN'T EVEN SEEN THE MOVIE?! D:

But...but how do you comment on something when you haven't even watched it? Haven't you ever heard "Don't knock it 'til you try it?" You're just hating on it because of the director and because it's a big-budget action movie. Now I'll grant you that it's not fine film for the cinema discusso, but it never pretends to be. You might actually find you LIKE the movie if you went and saw it. Better than sitting at your chair decrying something you've never seen, right? Even if you do still dislike the movie you have a better standpoint because you've watched it. Right now, you're just being--to quote Megatron--"oh, so unwise."

Best movie, btw, is The Transformers: The Movie (1986). It should win every film award, every year. It deserves it; it's the most perfect movie ever. Best actor, best supporting actor, best actress, best director, best original screenplay, best art direction, best cinematography, best score, best sound, BEST PICTURE. And it should win EVERY. FRIGGIN'. YEAR.

Because frankly all other movies are shit in comparison and they don't deserve to be awarded any accolades while TT:TM exists. It puts everything else to terrible shame. Filmmakers could give up now and nothing of value would be lost.

Darkside...reading your posts on transformers is almost painful...it's shit. Yes, the Special effects were quite impressive, but that's it. Horrible acting, horrible writing ( did anyone fact check the films depth of the ocean/carbon dating claims), horrible directing, ridiculous plot holes etc etc etc. I give this film about 1 year until it dips into irrelevancy..when the next big blockbuster comes out and it's effects are a year out of date.

Everyone had a favorite show as a child( I liked ninja turtles) but most people grow out of it....watch being john Malcovich and tell me that TF is a better movie...

"If you don't like the thread, don't post"

you should follow the same guideline then, you go in to a thread about a Movie/game you don't like saying how stupid it is,then you call people names when they say they they enjoyed the movie/game.
Why the **** is this good news to you that they are not making Transformers2? If you don't like the franchise then you don't have to watch it,same thing goes for games like Crysis, nobody is forcing you to play it.

YOU HAVEN'T EVEN SEEN THE MOVIE?! D:

I dont intend to ..those type of movies bore me to tears ..dont get me wrong I like action movies, Indiana jones is stil one of fave movies as is Bladerunner ...however this isnt even in the same league as those two movies ..it's just all loud noice and big set pieces like every other Bay movie, he puts the popcorn in "popcorn movies" ... it's the equivilent of a sloppy mcdonalds hamburger when what you actually want is fillet mignon

But...but how do you comment on something when you haven't even watched it?

if you look closely I never discuss the plot or chracters ..it's the premise that is shallow, it's the creatives behind the movie that are suspect

Haven't you ever heard "Don't knock it 'til you try it?"

once you've had a mcdonalds hamburger all big name fast food tastes the same

You're just hating on it because of the director and because it's a big-budget action movie.

I'm not hating anything ..and yes, the director is a master of schlock

Now I'll grant you that it's not fine film for the cinema discusso, but it never pretends to be.

yet you say no other film touches it ..well no you admit it's not fine cinema ..and that's where your argument falls apart

You might actually find you LIKE the movie if you went and saw it.

doubtful it has everything I dont like in a movie

Better than sitting at your chair decrying something you've never seen, right? Even if you do still dislike the movie you have a better standpoint because you've watched it. Right now, you're just being--to quote Megatron--"oh, so unwise."

again I'm more decrying the director and the premise more than the movie itself ...cuz I havent seen it, natch

ok, you're just playijng devil's advocate because no sane person could ever say that with any sort of conviction ..what if transformers2 is better? will you then say it's the best movie "ever"? ..but to even suggest that it's up there with citizen Kane or casablanca or the thin man, or hell even Being John Malchovich (excellent movie btw) is just utterly rediculous

Because frankly all other movies are shit in comparison

have you seen every movie ever made? how does it compare to la Dolce Vita? how about the bicycle thief? how about Vertigo, or On the Waterfront?

and they don't deserve to be awarded any accolades while TT:TM exists. It puts everything else to terrible shame. Filmmakers could give up now and nothing of value would be lost.

oh come you cant be serious, try bringing that up in a college film course, try presenting your case to the American Film Institute, they'd laugh you out the door ..please if you truely are of that opinion you've just invalidated yourself from ever making a worthwhile commentary on film n general ..Transformers is NOT an accurate measuring stick for film

When did people stop enjoying brainless movies with stuff blowing up? I enjoyed Transformers - stuff blew up for about 2 hours, big robots smashed each other and turned into sexy cars. Did anyone really expect anything else?
