Nintendo World (3DS stuff)

Yeah I read somewhere that the prices for games were going to be higher than the DS prices. But £40 is quite a lot! Looks like I'll be buying second hand titles if I get one!

b-b-bb-bu you're killing the industry!
Used games...dev costs...project 10 dollar... *grumbles incoherently*

Pfff I buy plenty of games new. I don't play handhelds that often so I can't justify paying for brand new games. £40 can get me two or three PC games which will all get way more playtime than a handheld game from me.

I was only kidding anyway and I agree £40 takes the piss. Hell I thought £30 was ridiculous for DS games aswell

Gonna be a while before I get this D:

Maybe after graduation and getting a job!

The 3DS will cost approximately 380 USD in my country.

What.

The.

****.

How much are ps360 games in the UK?

/stupid conversions.

£40 for ps360 games that aren't CoD

(CoD is £45 >_>)

Did anyone else notice that the "interviews" in the live stream right after the presentation were obviously and blatantly fake placements? I mean jesus christ atleast try to act as if its real. Nice marketing nintendo, but we werent all born yesterday.

I don't know about cost but they sure weight a lot, 40 pounds!

Why do you people get PS360 games cheaper than us, your Scandinavian neighbours? We're both in the EU after all..

The average cost of new PS360 games over here(Counting all the more popular retailers etc) is 52 to 56 GBP.

DEATHMASTER: Oh you.

woah, woah, 3DS costs more than a Wii. WTFISTHISSHIT.jpg

I hope Sony doesn't use this as an excuse to overcharge the PSP2 as much as Nintendo overcharges their 3DS.

Especially since they say the PSP2 is equal in power to the PS3, or close to equal.

if sony where smart they'd undercut nintendo on price...who am i kidding? This is sony ffs! D=

Originally I was going to get this day 1. I'm having second thoughts. First, I'm not sure if or when I'd get $250 of use out of it. I'm not keen on the abysmal battery life despite the fact that I'll mainly be using it at home. Correct me if I'm wrong, but Pilot Wings isn't a launch title. And lastly, I just don't game that much anymore. All that combined means I'll be waiting a while to get my hands on one of these. I'll probably just try one out at GameStop and wait until they come down in price and up in battery life along with a deeper catalog of games.

Yeah, I'm not buying this until it drops in price steeply. I've had enough with Nintendo.

There's even an activity logger that acts like a pedometer, counting your steps and awarding coins that can be exchanged for bonus content, and a Street Pass function that lets you share certain information (think Miis) with passers-by who also have the feature activated. Users can also listen to music and surf the Web via a browser, which will come soon in a system upgrade.
I can see this thing being tied to pet dogs and swinging from the ceiling fan or something. Whatever fools the pedometer.

It should come with a pedo meter instead. Now that would be interesting.

A few more pictures, and some new (to me) information: http://mashable.com/2011/01/19/nintendo-ds3-release/

Weren't we expecting a £250 sticker price for the 3DS? Launching it at the same price that PSP Go started out at is pretty smart. It reminds us that no matter how overpriced the last two Nintendo machines have been (and remained damnit, Wii) there's always Sony, this generation's Sega.

250 seriously? Nintendo really needs to examine their market, no parent finds that price point attractive. But hardcore Nintendopes, this system appears to be for you. No one buy this, it is 2004 technology mostly, it should not cost that much, the lite version wont take long

I think it's the same size as a lite. Unless you mean a lite battery, as in anti-lite for lasting longer than 3 minutes.

Yeah, I'm definitely NOT buying this on the release date.

Not because of the price, but because it has no games that are worth playing on release date.

So it'll cost something like 260-299e here... You can get used Xbox360 + PS3 with that amount!

Source: Gamasutra. Fresh off the presses.

Not the most solid list, but not terribly shabby either. Street Fighter IV and Resident Evil could easily be my first 2 game purchases. Starfox, Ocarina of Time, and Mario Kart are all confirmed in development too so they will probably be out before too long...

I would buy it if the list contained Resident Evil Revelations.

I just don't give a jack about Mercenaries. I can play that to death on RE4 and 5.

The launch list is very very meh.

Predictably I caved in - a shiny black 3DS, Zelda, Starfox, Super Monkey Ball and Resident Evil will be arriving as soon as they become available \o/

Japanese?

I heard that the 3DS was region protected, so if you get a Japanese one, you won't be able to play non-japanese games.

I think he just means he preordered the US version + games.

They like to screw early adopters quite a bit at Nintendo. I have little doubt there is a better model that may not be much smaller, but will have a better battery with perhaps even higher ram, after all dsi is much more hefty than ds phat or lite

Which of the REs? Since there are two, there's the one with Jill, and then there's the seperate one that just seems to be a 3DS port of the Mercs mode from RE5 with some different characters.

I went for the UK version - it was a close call, but i'm done with importing now the £ has gone to shit.

Not the mercs one. I think it's called Resident Evil: Revelations.

Mmm, I was sorta disappointed by the gameplay footage, I had hoped it would be a bit closer to the older REs, for some reason.

Oh well, I guess I'll have to wait and see how the PSP RE that was announced a while back will turn out, though seeing as there hasn't been any info on it for quite some time it's very possible that it's been cancelled.

They are not coming back, but Outbreak with RE4 controls might
