bvgasm, Craig is BETTER than Brosnan. The blond hair was not obtrusive in any way, and you are making a huge mistake by not going just because Craig's blond.

I'm gonna go see it asap. The trailer looked pretty cool and I think Craig does look the part tbh. I'll drag the girlfriend with me to see it :p

Casino Royale - 9-9.5/10

Daniel Craig easily lives upto the hype. Dont care that hes blond, he fits the role perfectly. Super British and i guess he has that 'sex appeal' look that the women care about. Hell, he wouldnt be Bond if he didnt have THAT now would he?

Great film, especially at the start. Literally jaw-dropping car..and women..
The new DB9 is just pure..well..car porn lol.

Oh, and its great to finally see a Bond film where he doesnt come out of a hardcore fight with his shirt and tux still perfect. You see him develop scars on his face, he bleeds and his clothes get dirty and ripped.

Thank You for Smoking - 8.6/10...

Hilariously morbid movie.

Bad Education: The storytelling in this one could be looked at as either gimmicky as hell or revolutionary. The basic premise is two childhood friends meet as adults, and their past is told through a movie that one friend is directing, about a story that the other friend wrote, and we see elements of all three of those plot lines. It sounds confusing, and I was ready for a real head-trip, but I was shocked at how well it was pulled off. The ending is borderline confuisng and anticlimactic, but I loved it anyway.

What's a Nice Girl like you Doing in a Place like this?: This was one of the short film's Scorsese did in college. It was sort of a dumb premise, but the directing and general progression of the short was riveting. It reminded me a lot of various elements he'd use in later films such as Taxi Driver too, and it had a great dark, spontaneous sense of humour. It's on youtube, so give it a watch if you have 9 minutes to spare, you won't regret it.

Casino Royale tonight. Soooo excited!

Stranger Than Fiction - 9/10
Fantastic movie. Ferrel has definitely now proved himself as an actor (and everyone else in the film, especially Hoffman, is superb). The film is really, really funny, but I'd hesitate to label it as just a comedy. If you're looking for something unusual go see it.

^ I wanna go see that one :c

But tonight I saw The Prestige - 8.5/10

Amazing script and directing but the pacing just messed with my mind! Agh

Yep, and besides that, it is element for element exactly the same as every other bond movie. We got to see him before he was a 00, for oh maybe 4 minutes total. But even during that and throughout the rest of the movie, there is zero character development. Same attitude as always, same f-cking one-liners. Where was the realism? Where was the grittiness? Where was the acting??? Well it's not hard to play a Bond character for any decent actor. All they have to do is become devoid of emotion and act cool. Big deal.

Casino Royale

2/10

Wait, just kidding, how about 0/10.

If this movie weren't hyped as being minimalist on the action and big on the drama and dark subject matter, i'd probably have rated it a 7 at least for being what it is.

I'm going to go ahead and assume you hated Kill Bill too.

Why would you assume that? I felt led on by the previews. I thought we'd get something different for real. Essentially I thought it would be Bond Begins. That's all I had ever heard about. Kill Bill never tried to make people think it was something different than what it really was. I don't really see where you're coming from.

Neither did the Bond film fool. Bond's character is emotionless, the film even covers that. Get your head out of your ass.

So now you're saying you didn't like Casino Royale because of the previews? I thought it made it look like a good action movie, which it was.

Really? Tell me how my head is up my ass because if I recall correctly, the previews said "See how James became Bond!" Well there was 2 minutes of that, and he was still the same as he always is. Being cool and emotionless. I wanted some emotion. I wanted the Bond Begins we were all ****ing promised. I wanted the epic soundtrack I heard about. Not the cheesy hollywood orchestral "SUSPENSE EVERYONE, GUYS, THIS IS A SUSPENSE SCENE OK!" kind of soundtrack. Lame, done a billion times before. I wanted more movie, more drama, less cartoonish automatic gunfire and explosions. We've grown up beyond Rambo movies in the hollywood world. I wanted some ****ing character development instead of in your face action. Nope, f-cking none of that.

Hah, get my head out of my ass, how about you go and die at war.

Casino Royale - 9/10

Bond falls in love, how is that emotionless?

Not to clutter this thread up, but I haven't even seen Casion Royale yet and I still can't take Glo Boys criticism seriously. Talking about not getting what you were "promised" and zero emotional development and stupid jabs at the musical score just isn't valid criticism. Especially when its contradicted by every review I've read, all the other posters in this thread, and everyone I know who's seen it.

I'd think you were trolling, but I can't even think of a good reason to troll about a Bond movie.

Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Mans Chest - 8/10 - Enjoyed it. Just wish it wasn't so loooong :p

Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Mans Chest - 8/10 - Enjoyed it. Just wish it wasn't so loooong :p

I remember checking my phone thinking the movie was wrapping up-and it was 45 minutes in. So yeah, the last 105 minutes were just awful.

Lonesome Dove - 8.7/10...

Fantastic western mini-series.

Rio Grande - 8.3/10...

Great John Wayne flick.

Horse Soldiers - 8.5/10...

Yet another good one, John Wayne in the Civil War.

King Kong Extended Edition 9.5/10

This is my favourite (recent) film at any rate, so the new scenes and added stuff just make it even better, and fill a few plot holes :)

Oh, and the 3rd disc`s bonus material was worth the price of the box set alone :)

Saving Private Ryan - 9/10 - First time I've seen it all the way through. Brilliant film. Sad story. Lots of gore, but I dont like gore :p

The Host - 8/10

Absolutely mental Korean monster movie/comedy. Hugely fun. Its out now in the UK, very much worth seeing.

King Kong - 7.5/10...

I think I can say that it's a little overrated after viewing it again.
So many scenes could've been dropped or shortened to make it move a bit faster.
If it didn't have those lame slow-mo scenes(like when Jack types Skull Island, and when they get to the island and get pwnt.)
If Jimmy wasn't a dead-eye with an automatic weapon. :|

It's all nitpicks but, I still enjoyed the movie.

Terminal Velocity - 7.9/10...
Great, great Hollywood actioner.

****ing love The Seventh Seal.

If you loved the Seventh Seal, see Wild Strawberries. It's another great film by the same Director, I'd say it was actually better than Seventh Seal. I need to watch more Bergman, he's just a fantastic director.

Lots of gore, but I dont like gore :p

I like the gore in Saving Private Ryan because it's realistic. :p

Soul Plane - 3.5/10 - Ugh, some funny moments but I was rolling my eyes for the most part of the movie. Only watch if you're extremely bored.

I like the gore in Saving Private Ryan because it's realistic. :p

Thats why I didnt like it :p Can handle most gore. But can't stand realistic gore or operations and stuff.

Can handle games, GoW is ace :D But not stuff like the Omaha beach anding and when the one guy died bleeding when they ambushed that outpost. The rest i handled fine.

Yeah, I'm a pussy :(

...the one guy died bleeding when they ambushed that outpost.

I got to admit I was a little dizzy after watching that scene for the first time. The bullet wound, with the amount of blood pouring out, was frighteningly realistic.

Jackass 2 .... 7/10

Very funny indeed. OK, it's blatent more than half of it was set up, but even still, it's hilarious and definately worth a watch.

The Man with the Golden Gun-7/10

A decent Bond movie. Had the little midget who says "It's dee plane, dee plane!" Can anyone remind me what movie that was? Fantasy Island or something.
