Tenacious D - Pick of Destiny 7/10

Man I didn't know ole' Jack Black could sing soo well.. Fans of Tenacious D would surely dig this but basically anyone who likes Classic 70's style rock with audacious lyrics would love this film.

Crank - 2/10

Ohhh man, this film was just bad. Tough London geezer - fine. Assassin/hitman/getaway driver/stereotypical action man - no. Bad Statham.

EDIT: How does a helicopter get 80,000 feet in the air? :|

Lol.

You completely missed the entire point of the movie.

Ridiculously insane ****ed up senseless mindless etc. action.

Unless you actually rented it thinking it was going to be a serious movie.

Agreed 1000%!! Its like GTA on crack.. more than the usual amount anyway. I'll give it 8/10 at least.

Gone In 60 Seconds - 9/10

How does Cage DO IT? The ultimate bad/tough/cool guy.

No. I didn't miss the entire point of this piece of shit, I knew exactly what it was and at what capacity. This doesn't eliminate it from being absolutely garbage.

I thought the concept sounded awesome, the end result was terrible.

Damn it, I hate him in everything except Con-Air (oddly).

He just has the same one note attitude to me, a lot like Keanu Reeves.

Christopher Titus: 5th Annual End of the World Tour - 8.5/10

This dude is funny as shit.

Borat - 8/10

I lol'd.

Crack was amazing, went to see it two times. Amazing action way over the top, very fun movie. Funny to.

The Illusionist - 9.5/10

Very good movie.

I agree. Just saw this at the weekend. Beautifully shot and really had me gripped from beginning to end.

The Illusionist > The Prestiege

Most certainly.

I just watched Requiem for a Dream and it was by far the most depressing and real movie I've ever seen. 10/10 for the drama it presented and the dreary atmosphere which it held together throughout the film. It sure as shit made me want to stay from addiction.

The Departed - Meh. CBA with a rating, but I didn't really enjoy it. Having seen and loved Infernal Affairs, this doesn't hold a candle to it. Every scene that was a mirror of the original was done worse and to less effect, and they're all pretty forgettable. The way it's put together is so fragmented, and with dialogue coming at you in flurries (complete with accents and plenty of muttering), it gets a little hard to follow - even if you already know what's coming. Matt Damon really sucked too... and I didn't have anything against him before this. Infact both main characters were done without any of the charisma of their chinese counterparts, although I didn't have any problem with Leo's acting, and Jack Nicholson was... Jack Nicholson.

Also, the ending was a bit of a copout.

Anyway, besides that, it isn't a bad movie. But you're bound to get that with a director like Scorsese, so I came in with expectations.

Edit - Oh yeah, and worst blood effects ever. What the hell o_O

Premonition - 7/10

Slightly predictable i found. Still freaky, 'scary' in some places (well, for the girls in the audience i guess?), emotional and watchable. Just dont expect anything..amazing.

Saw Final Fantasy on Saturday. I'd give it 7/10. It's good the way it's kind of crossed between HL2 and the Matrix, but the plot is too predictable.

BLASPHEMERS!

Full Metal Alchemist Movie - 8/10
Pretty awesome conclusion to a pretty awesome series. Lacks some of the emotion of the series, but some of that might've been lost in the dub, whereas I watched the series with subs. Still grooveh.

Catholic Boys - 7.5/10
Decent school/coming of age type comedy drama. It's not uproarious comedy nor is it an emotional rollercoaster, but it does fine anyway. Parts are acted well too, with some familiar faces, only in high school form. I particularly liked that the guy from Grey's Anatomy got like 2 lines despite having a lead role, and his character was basically a nobody. Take that, ya prick :D

Edit - Fun fact: When my mum picked out the latter movie, I remarked "oh cool, I haven't seen a decent porno in ages". She didn't even flinch. Shows what sort of family I have :p

Blood Diamond - 8/10

Much better than I was expecting.

300 (again) - 9.8/10

Just...epic. I dont think my jaw left the ground.

Saw it on the net on the weekend (thanks USA), but watching it in the cinema just adds to the sheer awesomeness and carnage sounds.

Children of Men - 10/10
This film is fantastic. I was not hyped about this film at all but it blew me away. The director and cinematographer of this film deserve to have temples built to them. The most dramatic scenes are done in single takes. The climax of the film is one continous scene must be ten minutes long, in one bloody take. This is an amazingly well made film. The plot and the characters get it 7 or 8 out of 10. The sheer craftsmenship of it gets it a 10.

300 7.5/10 i dont know what everyone saw in this movie that i didn't, it was cool, lots blood etc, but nothing special and it definately has nothing on sincity.

Literally one take. It was actually done as a 'final try' for the day as they were running low on time and money. See the blood on the lense when he runs into the bus? It had to be digitally removed for the rest of the scene because an extra exploded his blood pack too soon. Epic.

The Illusionist - 8/10

Really liked this movie.

300 - 8/10

Absolutely awesome fight scenes, the rest bored the shite out of me though. :D

Agreed, but I give it 8/10. Some good camera work and very stylised. Good thing I didn't get hyped up on this one like many others.

Comment on Alan Ball - Can't wait for his new movie "Nothing Is Private". Still on the 3rd season of Sixth Feet Under (most weakest I must say).

a clockwork orange . 9/10

a .9/10? Guess it wasn't worth watching.
Sin City for about the 5th time. Still a 10/10. One of my favorite movies of all time. "The fire baby! It'll burn us both!"

It really isn't.

I don't know why Clockwork got so much praise.
It's hard for me to even watch it, it's so ****ed up.

Thus why I've only seen it once.

Sleepy Hollow; 3/10.

Shitty. Boring. Badly acted. Horrible story line.

that is a 9/10, not a .9/10

i loved it. the book is much better though.

TMNT - 6.2/10...

God, I was hoping it would've been better than the live-action movies.
Boy was I wrong.
It tries too hard to be funny or cheesy, it's definitely not for the kiddies.
And the turtles themselves are all alike, no personality at all.

It was a bit fun to watch though, lots of action... and I liked the art style.
