Real Life Campers?

Well, we all know about those crazy lines of people camping out at movie theaters the night of a giant release (you know, like the star wars nutz that get in line 4 days early!). So do you guys think there will be crazy fans camping out in front of retail stores on the 15th? It would be soooo funny to turn on the nightly news and see HL fans lined up outside BestBuy, Ultimate Electronics, and E.B. stores. lol

lol, I doubt it. If someone does, they deserve to be stoned to death. You can get the game in MANY ways.

won't happen. despite how awesome this game looks, it doesn't look like it has entered the public consciousness the way halo 2 and san andreas have.

still, it's going to be a great seller, and will likely go on to break pc sales records in the months ahead. pc games have a habit of staying on the sales charts far longer than console games.

Thankfully i have a kiosk set up in a mall, and have access to the ebgames long before anyone else does because of it. Just so happens, i'm working that morning. Gonna have to schedule in someone to watch the store so i can get my copy(muah, i preordered anyway!)

I doubt that will happen where I'm at. If, however, I did see such a person doing that, I would laugh at him and brag about how I got my copy instantly through Steam.

He would then probably beat the crap out of me, but I'd still be wearing that jackass smile underneath all the blood.

I agree. I also noticed that San Andreas has a buttload of advertising already. And Halo2 has been given Uber Hype all over the place, especially on G4 that gaming channel. I think HL2 deserves the spotlight!

It should have it but well console games always get more attention by the uninitiated , still I got mine from Steam, hell! I don't think the game is even planned for an oficial release after quite some time were I live.

This happened at my local theater when the tickets for LotR TT were put out for sale. All these goths and save-the-nature/i vote red because i have no real oppinions idiots were camping outside the cinama. Little did they know the doors were already open, and me and my friend walked right in and got the first 12 tickets. They were so pissed. Some of them even cried. We then sold them the tickets we didnt keep, 10 of them, at a profit of almost 300%.

I can see it now, a bunch of people camp outside their video game store to get Half life 2 first thing. The store opens and they go in to buy it, but oh no, they only have enough money to sell to those who pre-ordered (as happened with Fable for me the other day) so they just stand there slack jawed as people who slept in a bed all night come in and take away their copies.

Well considering most have already played the FULL version of Halo2 I think we would more likely see it from HL2.
