im stuck, where do i find the second access code for the second door?

Where exactly can you get better armor as opposed to that leather jacket. I'm a pretty good ways into the game and haven't gotten any upgrade yet.

One early mission lets you fetch a "perfected" suit (basically a coat like the bandits wear) very very early in the game, in a cave with some mutant boars just a little further from the first bandit camp you encounter. You can choose not to deliver the coat to get a reward (crap artifact and some cash), use it yourself instead, its great for a start. You get the first proper stalker armor when you first get to the bar in Rostok, which is after the mission in Agropom.

After that there's a duty merc armor dropped by Borov before the secret lab in the dark valley, theres another stalker "monolith" armor inside X18 (which is crappier than the duty merc one because it lacks night vision, it doesnt add any armor protection mor ethan the merc armor does).

im stuck, where do i find the second access code for the second door?

9542, i missed it too, its in the dead scientists PDA

This game seriously freaked me the **** out last night.

*****SPOILER ALERT****

You know when you're first finding that guys stash, where you get the fast firing ak? Well, there's that monster before you get there that makes your vision all weird and shit. That was the coolest thing I've seen in a video game in quite some time.

You mean the one that makes the high pitched sound? If so, yeah that thing scared the shit out of me. :hmph:

...Is it just me or is there NO quicksave?!

I was wondering what the game was missing and I can't see any option for quicksaving anywhere, this is the type of game that really needs something like that.

You can quicksave, but you can only quickload if the name your computer is registered in doesn't have any spaces.

Yeah.

Also, my game keeps crashing. I'm gonna need someone to come over and fix this.

Ill do it. Brt.

Im doing that mission where you need to get in the lab, but I am stuck.

***Spoiler***
I need to get the key so I can unlock the door to the secret lab, but I cant find it, I am in the base where it says to go, but when I am directly on the map note on my mini map im just standing in a room with nothing to grab. Down stairs is just the bathroom, and up stairs is the roof. I cant find it. I already talked to the guy who was locked up... but this is where i think i may have broke the game. When I released him, i jumped inside the cell to see if anything was in there, and then he stopped right in the entrance so I couldnt leave. I thought I had talked to him enough and he wouldnt move so I shot him in the head. Now that i cant find the key, im thinking i needed to talk to him again. Is he the one who gives you the key?

The main bandit has the key, when I killed him his body disappeared, but I found his invisible corpse and got the key.

for some reason, it doesnt work for me. Like the door is banging, and i cant open it up with that code, do i need to trigger a event and the door stops banging or something?

I've got the cash and the will to buy the game.

But guess what? It doesn't come out here until the 13th of April, FFFF****!

Now guess what I'm going to do? I also hope to have enough willstrength to buy the game afterwards, when it comes out.

On a completely unrelated note, why do most torrents download at about 10-15kB/s for me, even though my max download speed is 64kB/s (512kb/s bandwidth)? Only some stuff like demos, download at max speeds, but then again that's off some torrents hosted by gaming sites. I'm using utorrent.

Try lowering your upload speed to about 10 or so, I find that that usually helps my downloads go alot faster.

There must be a 1001 reasons to make a Mod Inspired by STALKER using cryENGINE 2.0

I'd recommend the 8800gts 320mb, because I think my x1950XT has too little vram (256mb).

I'm wondering, where can I find a duty faction suit. Because I need something that can protect me from radiation in order to go into Prypiat(I think that's how you spell it). What other suit could protect me into that area?

It's only 10 hours long and the MP is boring, it's not worth it

download it

Damn man. Did you just run through the whole thing? Ive spent that much time on it already, and I havent even done the second mission on the main quest!

yeah i'm still going around cordon atm, must have played atleast 4 to 5 hours if not more, i just met up with fox is it, now i haveto meet his brother but stayed in cordon to explore, for some reason the time cycle seems to be slower or maybe its just me, walking around at night can be extremely scary, the sounds, thunder and lighting...

i love how the world feels alive, i went back to the first factory at night to notice more dead bandits, here i found an mp5, it had also been reoccupied by more bandits in the area where you rescue nimble, the atmosphere of this part was outstanding, i used the ladder to go to the top of the building and silently took out a lone patrolling bandit, i then moved into the second room which containied the stairs leading down.

i wasnt sure how many bandits were there but knew there was atleast 1 because of the sounds of a guitar. i slowly moved to the stairs and peaked down, 2 bandits, popped the guy playing the guitar with a quick shot to the head, then unloaded into the other guy...

i headed back to the first camp to get some rewards, it was still night and it was pouring down, thunder and lighting, many new stalkers had taken up sleeping quarters in the abandoned houses, i woke them up to try and attain some more info but they had none, i went into to see sid to do some trading and then headed back out into the storm...

yah, i've been playing for about 10-12 hours now, and have only done a few quests around the duty bar area (spoiler-proof posting ftw).

as with most pc games nowadays, 2G ram goes a LONG way. to all those with 512MB to 1G of ram, seriously consider picking up some ram before doing any other upgrades. you'll probably be pleasantly surprised with the performance boost you get.

I ran right through to get 10 hours, skipped tons of enemies, but I beat it

Awesome little story.

I haven't been able to get into the game THAT much as I haven't the time to really play games that much anymore.

Oh well, April vacation is just around the corner! :D

Then you didnt really experience the game as it should have been, and should be telling people not to buy it.

For those that did the catacombs mission by the research facility, how many creepy monsters are in there? And where can I get night vision goggles so I don't have to rely on a torch?

My game runs fine, but can anyone explain why these graphical problems are happening or what they are called? I'm sure it's related to my graphics card and would love to know what I could do to get rid of them. It's really making the iron sites difficult to use.

Thanks.

Any way to fix the popping geometry? (shrubbery just flickers into existence), it looks really gross.

Those are usually the symptoms of an overheating graphic card. Turn up the fan speed on the gpu to 100%, open the case, buy extra fans, etc...

 jeez, 109 seeds, 384 peers and still only 20KB/s download, and I'm on fiberoptics!

lol, wtf. I reloaded the game, still couldnt find the guy, so i went outside and killed another group of bandits coming into the compound, and then came back to the room where they guy's body now showed up.

But now im screwed because for some reason the game wont let me load my save.

Buy it noob.

Any answers for these two? :(

millions, and million, and millions, use the torch for a more medieval effect.

so....for no reason what so ever, I was running around and then BAM...it looked like somebody had turned out the lights.

...then I realized the dynamic lighting hasn't been showing correctly for the past 3 days. So now it's like looking at a whole new game..unfortunately it got a LOT harder now, because I used to be able to see perfectly in the dark..now i can't :*)

not alot of monsters really, a few psi ones that are mainly annoying. Borov that has the key to the research facility in TDV drops a black merc suit that has night vision.

so anyone know exactly where the freaking second code is? i still cant find it, and the code 9542 doesnt work for me, perhaps i must find it myself inorder to treigger a event?

I may be mistaken, but isn't the 2nd code on the body of the dead scientist wearing the bright orange suit?

Perhaps because the code is 9524 not 9542

Thanks for the reply, I appreciate it. The card was OC'd out of the box and I'm wondering if they went a little too far. Is the GPU fan controller in BIOS? I'm at my work machine right now and can't check that out. Thanks again.

Well if it's a radeon/ati card you can use ati tray tools:

http://downloads.guru3d.com/download.php?det=733

It's perfectly safe and it's a great piece of software. You can also underclock the card. Which I'm currently forced to do otherwise I get the same weird artifacts on my screen. It helps you monitor your graphic card's temperature too.

You don't happen to have a x1900 gt do you?

Thanks again, I appreciate your help. I have an Nvidia 6800 so I'm looking to use RivaTuner or CoolBits. I forget how much they OC'd it out of the box. My google searches took me to the same site you referenced. Looks very helpful.

That's what it looks like I'll have to do. Keep underclocking it bit by bit until I get a normal image back. I might buy a few extra fans too.

Fun game, can't wait to be able to use iron site aiming again.

some of the side missions seem to be borked, i got two off sid but i dunno how to complete them so just left them, one involved clearing the area near the tunnel leading under the railway of mutants but there was none o_0, another involved assasinating a stalker who was pretending to be sid but couldnt find him in the area, maybe he already got killed :/

i just went back over to where i first met fox too and noticed his corpse too....

also some of the stashes that you get info on from dead npcs dont show up on your map and some that do i cant find the stash when i get there :/

still enjoying it alot though..
