Short Story Contest! [DISCUSSION THREAD]

You've still got about 10 hours by my clock, lol.
 
I don't think I'll be posting this tripe. I could have maybe done a small poem- the word count made me stretch it out more than I had liked to and now I don't even like where I went with it. OH WELL. Next contest I promise to submit something.

Pesmerga your right I was being a little self congratulatory when I made that post and you can have whatever opinion you want to about my writing.

But I hope you will remember that while we are not physically talking to each other we are all still human beings and you should treat me with the same respect I feel I have been treating you with.

Bikes, cars, trains

Trains are "bound to steel" because they are on tracks, and cannot move outside of them. They are bound to "toil" because a large part of the histories of some countries involve people being exploited to build the railroads. Being as I am, a bike, I find all this suffering unnecessary. I'm not an ethical train-avoider, and I know that the train would beat me in any fight, largely because I'd sit on the tracks, it would ignore me and keep going, then blammo - a mess of steel, and the train wouldn't feel a damn thing.
 
I found this a very hard choice between dekstar and abike.
 
Will there be more contests? At regular intervals?
 
Yes, but a little irregular.

I don't think the custom title should be something like that, I think it should be a really clever title/pun that Sulk thinks up!
 
I was going to make it "Tiny Pullitzer" but that wouldn't really be clear to people who didn't know about the contest. :p
 
I think A-bike's title should be 'loves fat bottomed girls'

Damn Sulk I love Pastiche, and have already done a few things about it, but they have to be crudding originals.

I wrote my own Lovecraft pastiche a while ago, so, while I can't enter with it, I might make a thread for it just to put it out there. In which case you can put your already-written thing in as well. :p

O'course, feel free to have it the other way round, and create the thread yourself.

Heh I've done a few actually (yay for my lack of originality!), from a noir crime short story to a romance (sex) story. They're all a bit shit, but I liked 'em.
