StarCraft II

some fun games i had against random terrans on ladder if anyone cares

I don't think that Terran player should have been anywhere near diamond league. o_O Way few marines then he should have had at that stage, and he messed up by going directly to Starport when he should have been building more barracks and perhaps some more troops, especially since he has what, like 6 marines?

Also, good job on the mass zergling + baneling attack.

Edit: ktimekiller, I actually think you're one of the better players in SC2. Is it normal for NA terran players to go mechanical and all high-tier when playing against zerg? Because you always seem to have the upper hand, since your numbers are WAY greater.

FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU the last Toss mission was AWESOME.

Yeah that mission is one of my favorites so far.

It is like having an co-op buddy while you gallantly and with much pwnage lead the way with the hero unit. Breaking out the extra prisoners was a nice detail as well.

Um... wasn't the last Toss mission the one where
you have to fight until your last unit dies? And protect the archive?

My mistake. I though you were talking about Tosh, not the (pro)Toss. That last Zeratul mission was pretty brutal as well btw.

The best part of that mission imo was that you were sure to die. Custer versus the Zerg.

With the queen of blades turned back to Kerrigan, doesn't that still mean that the queen of blades is dead? Ala that the overmind's vision will still happen?

You've got two whole games before that happens.

I think that she will have a lot to do in the future. She still seems to have some remnants of Zerg on her. I can't really even speculate what will happen, but it should be good.

Just dull dude, I just wouldn't rank it in my top 10 missions list.

Edit:

Yes it me or the dude in the background looks a bit like Naked Snake?

ps: did anyone catch the nerdy lab guy saying something about a missing stapler?

All the easter eggs are appearing online, although I haven't seen any yet

There is a lot of butthurt circulating around about Blizzards inability to cater for the hardcore gamers.
Typical.

Boring how? It was just fine :|

I just played it last night, and I have to agree it was pretty boring. Oh no a handful of little dudes and maybe a weird walky thing come every once in awhile, whatever will I do?!!?

I guess I'll just build a huge ass army in the exuberant amount of downtime and re-establish a base at every mining resource there is, after exhausting the last one. Exciting!

That has been going on since.... well at least a couple of years. Basically since Wrath of the Litch King came out. People were still cool in The Burning Crusade because shit was hard. They opened everything up, taking away steep requirements and general difficulty opting instead for an easy first attempt and a hard modes for real difficulty. The thing was it was never really as hard as it was initially.

Personally I think it had less to do with the actual difficulty of the fights and instead was the push for variety making easier setups and the mass of experience amongst players combined with the shrinking to 25 person raids that made it so much easier even in hard modes. I don't think it's as bad as people say.

As for Starcraft 2, I don't think it's all that easy. Playing it on normal was pretty easy for me, but I've played a ton of Starcraft and spent months playing it in beta, for someone who just started it might be a challenge. Difficulty levels are crazy like that. I think it's just some fanboys being angry.

Just finished the game. The last mission was definitely the hardest one in the game and it took me a few tries, but I thought it was great. The ending, on the other hand...

Restoring Kerrigan is the lamest thing that could happen, and it did. WOOOOOOOOOOOOO.

I assume that's the way zerg unit upgrades are going to work... Kerrigan doesn't have control of everything anymore.

I was implying World of Warcraft in the case of "typical". It's typical that Blizzard had dumbed the SC franchise down in ways (or just implemented a poor attempt to steamline the community, I forget which). As soon as people start to complain that they keep getting taken down by Terran turtles or rushes, they'll patch to please their money, I mean their fans.

I never played starcraft and I havent even come close to failing a mission on normal yet.

patches, mods, random updates and total conversions are probably being worked out now. I'm sure they'll add a Extreme Hard mode and other goodies

Normal is cake. I could sit on my ass doing nothing for 3 minutes once the mission started and still breeze through the enemies.

Hard and Brutal on the other end, are unforgivable in time limited missions (to get achievements that is)

So is anyone using the pad that came with the game? not sure if i want to use mine...

Its an overpriced piece of paper from Apple.

Terran turtles arent exactly hard.

''Oh no, he has 5 bunkers blocking the only ramp into his base''

Dropship round the back, wipe out his economy and then (Monty Python) ''RUN AWAY!! RUN AWAY!!''

Or, Baneling rush. A group of 20 or so will wipe out enough to atleast make a hole in his defence, then in come the speedlings.

Dont know about Protoss. Only noobs play them anyway.

What's a pad?
A clump of SC2 designed pad of paper is what I assumed he was talking about.

Terran turtles are easy to deal with. Building a proper turtle base means two things:

1) The spent a lot of resources on things like bunkers, marines, and siege tanks

and

B) They haven't expanded. So - you have the run of the map. They're going to run out of resources and you will not. No matter how tough a well managed marine/siege tank combo is, it's not invincible. Too easy to go around it... especially with a huge resource advantage.

what's different about the new battlenet? i haven't played starcraft in years.

I have some questiongs about starcraft2 and battlenet

1-I hear dthe games will be region locked, meaning that you would only play on a region like if I am here in europe I would only play against people in europe and such,is that true?

2-from what I seem the new batlennet looks like a steam like thing where you must be logged in to play, even vs ai or things like that?

Offline play is possible though, but just the campaign and the challenges.

so that means them I wouldnt be able to play against you all since you all come from diferent zones?

well then thats one reason to dont feel bad for not having it except for the campaign which is what I most desire :(

Im pretty sure you can change your region through your Bnet account.

Yes, you can. But then you still can only play in the region you changed it to. Cross-region play isn't possible.

Be my guest if you don't care about the story being spoiled for you.
