String Quartet Tribute... ever listened to that? That's freacking great.

http://tmrpro.com/

Basically, they do string remixes from popular songs. So far they've done:

Coldplay
Led Zeppelin
REM
U2
Alanis Morissette
Radiohead
A Perfect Circle (Tool)
Evanescence
...

I really really love what it sounds like. I recommend it to everyone, it's worth a try.

One of the same guys is in both isn't he? If so, that's the only similarity.
If you like this stuff, Apocalyptica are another string quartet playing Metallica and a few of their own inspired 'peices.' Some of their stuff with electric instruments sounds pretty cool, but i find all this stuff a bit gimmicky and it never lasts me more than a couple of months.

Yah, good find :)
I'm a great fan of string quartets in general, and its interesting that these tributes have been made.

some of their stuff is very good. check them out.

Maynard James Keenan is the vocalist for both APC and Tool but no other shared members. Apocalyptica is okay, Pesmerga sent me some of their stuff... funny how the instrumental Metallica doesn't suck while the normal Metallica does... sorry Pressure.

I've got the string tribute to tool by the way, it's pretty damn good.
