I can't. Believe. You just posted. A video. In a The Dark Knight thread. Of. That. Film.

I got a little toy Tumbler in a TDK baggie. So I put a little hole in the top and used the screw from the keychain to drill it into there and put some super glue around the area for extra strength. So now I have a Tumbler Keychain. Many of my friends are jealous. :)

You know the scene when The Joker is talking to Commissioner Gordon and says something about how he shouldn't trust that his men are not really working for Marione and then says, "Does it bother you to know.... how alone you really are?"

Given the context of the position of Gordon, that part actually made me quite sad. I know it was just another prod from The Joker as usual, but there was a certain sincerity to it that made me feel a bit :(.

I saw it last night. Great movie 9/10, but I find it awkward that it's top 1 on imdb.

Some great acting, and the Joker was awesome. I laughed at the pencil trick scene for like a minute.

saw it again today.... still held up brilliantly upon the second viewing :)

And yay for screen 7 'The Full Monty' at the ciniworld sheffield 20 screen multiplex... largest non imax screen in the UK :D

Love your new avatar jimbo, from American Psycho I believe? :D

I thought it was crap. Action films just aren't for me I guess. The Joker was good though.

The Dark Knight 10/10

Best batman film ever.
Best batman ever.
Best Joker EVER!!
One of the best films i've ever seen :)

IMDB rankings mean nothing.

It's the most popular movie database and lots of people vote there. How does that mean nothing?

BTW, did anyone think of American Psycho when the Batman was timing his jump to land on the car driving in the spiral in the parking lot?

Yeah, it was similar lol.

It's just that IMDB is like the GameFAQs of movies. Theres a lot of good information on the site proper, but the community surrounding it is a jug full of crazy.

I thought exactly this, and so did the guy I was watching it with. Also whenever he was putting on his playboy act he seemed really Bateman-esque.

Watching it for the second time today I realised something:
by the time the Joker is brought in he knows that Bruce is Batman. I certainly think he dropped a few hints in that direction.

Or am I imagining things?

I didn't catch that. I should watch it again, but it made me remember something else.

I was talking to Samon the other night, and he pointed out how in the fake Batman/tv threat scene, he noticed something that he hadn't after 3 viewings (and I hadn't at all). When the Joker says "Do you think Batman has made Gotham a better place?" he doesn't get a reply, and we both failed to make the transition to what he says next. But the transition is there. He says "Look at me. LOOK AT ME." And he's basically saying "This is what Batman has done."

****ing intense how multiple viewing bring up other things.

Yeah I got that bit.

In the interrogation scene the Joker refers to Batman's relationship with Rachel. He implies he knows about the kiss (was prob having her watched by then). The whole setup with Dawes and Dent and giving Batman the wrong address was done with the knowledge that Bruce valued Rachel more.
He simply didn't say it straight out because of the cops listening in. But the Joker knows Bruce is Batman.

PS do we still need spoiler tags? Been out quite a while now.

He knew batman cared the way he jumped out the window. Joker never meet bruce the wayne.

I've generally liked Robert Downy Jr. as an actor, but always figured he was an arrogant ass.
For someone who just acted in an above average superhero film a while back, he sure is full of himself.

He put two and two together. One of the twos being Rachel being thrown out the window. The other was Batman diving after her instantly.

He didn't. He never knew Bruce was batman. He knew batman whould go for rachel, and leave Dent. It had nothing to do with bruce.

It's somewhat humorous that he's not too far in character from Tony Stark.

But how would he have connected her to Bruce?

The fact that she went to Bruce's flat. The fact that she was a known friend of Bruce. He even seemed to imply that knew Bruce and Rachel kissed - he was probably having her watched.
Honestly he knew enough and he was smart enough to piece it together.

Go watch the interrogation scene again. Pay attention to what the Joker says and implies. See for yourself.

Why would he assume that? Batman saved her from falling yes - but she was the only person in imminent danger in that situation. He'd need a little more to go on.

My favourite thing about this movie is that, with his mansion destroyed, the batboy literally lived in a basement.

Either way he doesn't know, he might've been poking fun at the possibility just to see how the Batman would react but he doesn't know 100%.

It was probably common knowledge Bruce and Rachel were close after the first movie, Bruce is a billioniare, and paparazzi is crazy.

Maybe not 100%. The Rachel-Dent choice would clear that up though.

I'll be seeing it again in a few hours.

Edit: Just after coming back. Noticed that Bruce quotes Ra's al Ghul while talking to Alfred "Criminals aren't complicated."

wall-e > dark knight

I cannot say this enough damnit!

Anyway, I thought the only good thing about this film was the joker, ALL of the good scenes were with him, ALL of them

I preffered batman begins personally...
