For everybody having issues with Windows 7

This resolved it for me. Whenever I got the ICCUP launcher with windowed mode, the crazy colors are gone.

Oh yeah, it does. :D

I love you two.

Oh, also, I'd like to play with you two. I'm not good btw, my height was 3 years ago, when I could actually play games and such.

EDIT2: How do you play in the server? How does the system work?

Seems like theres another wave going. Figures, still no invite. I wonder if I can make bnet accounts with wow trial accounts :D

I heard wave 2 happened last night. However, keys are no longer being sent to e-mails. Game is being activated directly on accounts to avoid key selling. You just get an e-mail notifying you that the game has been activated in your account.

Wouldn't that prevent those who already got in the beta to get in it again?

*EDIT* Numbers:

You go to Multiplayer -> Expansion -> make sure The Abyss is selected That is the ICCUP server.

Numbers, do you have a steam account? We just chat each other on steam when we want to play.
Bakurei, you can't opt in with a trial only account.

And I'm still not in. ;(

Woot! I am apparently in the SC2 beta now, after checking my Bnet account page.

Can't wait to try it!

Also, it bears mentioning that I did not receive an email yet notifying me that I got in, I just logged into my bnet account and checked the beta section, and SC2 beta was there, with the option to DL the client.

Nice Rico.

Maybe we can get some games goin' together this weekend.

Again not invited. Can't say I'm surprised, I never get picked for these things.

Yes... that's the point. There aren't keys anymore. They just activate it on random accounts. There won't be any more keys being sold around for much longer.

You can sell the account itself.

Even if it has games on it, unless you have a bunch of 80's on WoW you can easily make a hefty profit. 'Till everyone has the beta, and the supply & demand dies down.

I saw that story early earlier and didn't read it, thought it was meh. How wrong was I, it's really a good read. Damn makes me want to buy those SC books.

I need to relearn how to play... someone help me!!

Got to love phoenix's. Mass them, lift up the workers, profit. Just don't kill the unit you're lifting (just at the start of the animation), the unit will die but the phoenix will still keep doing the beam animation and lifts nothing. Still having trouble with an expansion and doing battles at the same time. I always end up controlling the units for too long and end up with like 1500 excess minerals :E

^Yeah, I'm not much different. I'm trying to get better at it

good thing I don't change video cards until tested properly. There are people that think you're a fool to not "upgrade" asap. THIS IS WHY.

Thats just harsh.

And you just KNOW that NVidia will do nothing for those people whos cards are now fried.

''Yeah we caused your card to die by a lack of proper quality control on our end, you suffer the consequences, and we say it was all your fault as you use drivers at your own risk''.

What? It was a faulty driver. Upgrading *drivers* until tested properly, yes, that's a wise decision. Video cards however have nothing to do with this.

I thought that was a typo, or a mix up of words, rather. But then, he did say upgrade, as opposed to update.

I really need to learn how to play zerg... Everything goes well up to like T2, after that I usually forget to tech, meaning enemy will come with carriers etc, while I have roaches/hydras.

I've been using creep tumors alot. I usually go 13-16 workers then go to pool (I hardly believe this would work online), then get queen and use her power for creep tumor, and rest for larva. Usually by the time I get my expansion up I already have the tumors way past it. While I'm doing this I tech up ling speed, burrow and claws, so I can have roaches moving really fast while burrowed (still need to check whether creep affects burrowed speed). Because of the tumors lings can travel trough the map with lightning speed. This helps the lings get great surrounds.

Damn I want an invite so I can try this shit online >.<

Pretend the word "Drivers" was after Video Card.

*EDIT* SHUT UP VIRUS!

*EDIT2* Bakurei, that wouldn't work online. It's a good idea to 10-pool. That will get your first couple lings out in time to stop the 1 or 2 zealots that are right outside your door, then that will get you pushed straight to roach tech which will prevent the larger numbers.

Having that many spine crawlers wouldn't be bad, but 1 colossus would go nuts.

Yea the AI is way too forgiving, it rarely attacks without a huge force. Usually by the time it attacks I can just kill all the zealots with a few roaches, without getting hit, if I went for tumors. I tried rushing ultralisks, by the time the AI attacked I had one ultralisk up and a horde of lings. Oh well atleast I can practice micro with this.

Yeah, it would be good for practicing build orders also. I need to practice and get in the habbit of using specific BO's instead of my "Guessing and winging it" stance. Although, that has gotten me into the top 50 of the gold league division I'm in lol

Well I had to put my sucky work laptop on battle.net, it's so shitty, that they must let me in! Some Asus UL something, battery lasts like 10h but thats about it :D

I've been watching a load of CowGoMoos replays and I'm starting to tech upgrades more. Usually I just get like a few troops and when they die I always tech higher and don't upgrade. Moo's won many matches just because his enemies are teching but not upgrading, so they lose every battle even though they have the same amount of units.

I forgot to say, good games last time Cyberpitz. We need to do it again sometime, maybe on wednesday when I'm done with my exam in the evening.

Day[9] did a good episode on CowGoMoo's replays. You should check it out.

I agree, it was quite entertaining. I wonder if we can hold in the Gold 2v2 league.

Dustin Browder interview.

What level of concurrency to you want to get to before the end of the beta?

Dustin Browder: I think we want to maintain about 10,000. It’s sort of our goal, and we’ve just about hit that at this point. I can see we’re at 9,000-something right now, and 10,000 is the goal.

So whoever didn't get in yet, don't hold your breath. They're just about done sending beta invites.

I didn't really expect to get in anyways. I'm not usually that lucky, but it was nice to hope ya know.
**Power Underwhelming**

It's also sad to see that there most likely won't be any unit changes since I would like to see a few units removed/replaced like the Thor/Mothership.

10,000 seems really low.

Balancing wise I wonder if they have enough good players to test properly.
Battle.net testing wise 10,000 total players isn't a lot of concurrent users playing (compare to Modern Warfare 2 which peaked at 92,000 concurrent users today and is multiplayer only).

Was it moo's? :'(

I will crawl back to my dungeon to make more tinfoil hats.
