Same thing is happening to me when I play, I have no idea what the hell is going on. I also saw some other guys when I played yesterday, they were also running around without weapons, I asked why I didn't have any weapons, and of course they didn't answer.

Cool that they added the Microsoft Sam voice when you type a message though. :D

Yeah I CAN imagine that all 20 peopl typing are chatting with voices at the same time. LOL

But its fun.

HL2 will have a such feature but more specific.........:thumsup:
 
I'm not really that impressed, Onslaught is the only mode worth playing and it's not that fantastic. I won't be buying the full version, I got fed up of UT2003 ages ago and this isn't much different to it.

The game doesn't really annoy me, i just find it boring.

Yep. :)

Can be a little annoying after the round is over, and everyone writes "GG, LOL, OMFG, BG etc. etc.". But luckily people don't write so much during a match.
 
I use a prog called Download Accelerator Plus, www.speedbit.com/ , its real good, you can pause and resume d/l's and there allotta other features. It usually downloads above 300 KB/s so its quite good.

I ALWAYS talk throughout a match, if someone kills me good, I congratulate them :p

Guess it's just me, thats what I liked about the XMP community, really nice lads :E
 
there is voice comm as well...
but this game is by far the best and most addictive MP i've ever experienced

Damnit that sucks. Im gonna just try to play with out all the graphic beauty, maybe that we help..or maybe it has nothing to do with it at all...
 
hmmm is it just me or is the UT2k4 master server down? I haven't been able to play online all day.

Is this happening to anyone else?

I couldn't connect to it for a while, i think it's because it refreshes the server list for you every time you fail to connect to a game (which happens alot for me). It must be putting it under too much stress.

Been happening to me a bit, but when I've been able to play, it's been rather fun, look for out for me :)
 
I'm hosting a server right now... it's not a dedicated one, though, so I'm not sure how the lag will be, though! :p

The IP is 65.30.97.161:27015 or "H2N Server" on the list. The password is 'h2n'.

Feel free to come... or I'll just play with me bot buddies!

Yeah, I like it more then ut2k3, onslaught is my fav mode :)
 
Okay, so I've played it even more today, and I'm still not convinced. Those vehicles suck! I haven't tried it online yet, but I guess it's a pain in the ass to get run over by those buggies over and over.
 
You can use a microphone and say something like,"Bravo, defend!"
And they'll respond!:cheese:

I just played 4 rounds of Onslaught and WOW! This is the best game ever.
 
Epic's community is pretty good. I like Epic-they are more in touch with their fans than Gabe Newell or Johny Carmack. And their games kick ass!

I couldn't get into the demo.... it's okay I guess since it has lots of bells and whistles but I just don't like the actual *playing* that much.

Yeah, I don't download games to play them either, I just look at them and fiddle with the control configurations :LOL:

You know what I mean... to me the gameplay just feels kind of disorganized and passive.... then again I've never been a fan of these kind of games in the first place..
 
Aren’t the sounds on the weapons a little to dull? When I fire with the Assault Gun I almost don’t hear the firing. Can’t you raise the sound a little, its pretty annoying IMO.

Although it can be my supreme excellent soundcard, damn I want to break that piece of shit.
 
Try changing your Audio Hardware to something else...
 
Anyone else wish planetside played this good? Oh man PS would have been kick ass if it was half as fun as ut2k4
 
I played in a huge game with Letters and qckbeam :) was great fun :D

I was 4th in my team (i think :p )

In the demo the max graphical settings you can have is only Normal. Thus the graphics will not look as good as they will in the final version. You can get better graphics by just turning up the resolution. I think its alright but I think it's just UT2003 with vehicles, more guns, assult mode, and other upgrades.....I don't know what to think. I guess its fun but I'll wait for the reviews...maybe it' sjust the demo. But, it is a pretty good demo :eek:
