web based IQ tests are in no way reliable... i gained a 131 which seems to be what almost everyone else scored but yet i have taken an IQ test whilst in school and gained a score of 146.
 
I once got 160 something on this long 20 page test, only to get an 80 on 10 question online test...

A few days ago I found this wacko color choosing test. You had to choose an order of 8 colors, twice, and then it told you your personality. Scary thing is that it nailed me, and was quite insulting about it.

Well, either that thing only has one outcome that fits everyone, or it actually works surprisingly well.

EDIT: Just did it again but purposefully picking a somewhat different sequence, and got different results, not as good as the first time. So it definitely doesn't use one outcome. Pretty cool.

127 - visual mathematician

i've never taken an iq test that wasn't timed...i could sit there for an hour and figure every question out and get 100%...but that wouldn't be the same as someone who got all the right answers in 5 mins...that's why all real iq tests are timed...and even then they don't mean much :p
 
i hate timed iq tests, they give you like 5 seconds to answer 2486428*58363587 :sniper:

That colour quiz is quite cool and a lot of it was right...however, the small problem with clicking them to fast and so they vanish but come backa second later was annoying.



EDIT: Just once i want to see that IQ test tell someone they are a retard or at least not feed them with a load of stuff aobut how amazing they are...with an IQ of 22.
 
Well that color quiz got me wrong - also it contradicted itself (a bit)

i got 131, Insightful Linguist, apparently if this test is right, any IQ score of 130 and above means you're elligible for Mensa

I've done this one a while back, can't remember what I had, was either upper twenties or lower thirties.
But I don't think it's very representative, since I think a true IQ test has to be time based.

meh, wasnt any trouble at all(if i had meticulously searched for every thing that could have given it away.....that would have been a bit of trouble)...the test doesnt even go above 140. i know, because i answered them all right and got 140. four times in a row.

which makes it really unreliable on any sort of basis.....a timed iq test i took gave me 147, and i didnt look at the amount of time so i rushed like 8 questions(out of like 80), yet i finished in 7ish minutes out of half an hour.

iq doesnt mean anything in the real world anyway. tons of methodic theives and serial killers with high iqs go to prison(which is the most retarded thing one can do), so whatever.(and i say this having an above average iq(what im getting at is that im not a low-iq person trying to rationalize my low-iq)).

life is what you make out of what you have....there are probably more happy bums than completely rich people.

lol i got a 142 btw. (check page... 4 i think) ... i took another IQ test on emode and got a 179 and i was barely paying attention, took the same test 2 days later, and tried to ignore everything around me, and got a bad score... point is... these online ones have to be taken with a grain of salt. AND they all have these upper limits which are quite low (best example was the "test the country" show from like a year ago or so. ...topmost limit was like what 140? 135? 145? anyways, it was way low. so even if you get everything correct, you're still BARELY a genius.

i heard about this one test(has to be taken in front of a psychologist) where they calculate the IQ AND can tell you about how ADHD you are or any other psychological problems. it's SUPPOSEDLY the most accruate test right now.
 
D'oh! I looked at a picture of some of the questions that I took for some reason... and realized that the dot was on the wrong radial button (compared to how I remember solving the problems) in two of the questions. I retook the test and corrected those questions... then it gave me a 144. I forgot that (at least in Opera) when you use the arrow keys it moves between the different choices! I was trying to use them to scroll up and down the page (as I frequently do). If I am the only one that did that (and I probably am) I should take the 4 points back off for making a mistake like that.
 
There is no way for that test to be accurate. Real IQ test take hours, and actually cost money to take.

Also, real IQ test follow a strict bell curve. Average = 100 score. 75% percentile = 120. 25% percentile = 80. Also, if everybody scores higher on a real IQ test, they change it so the median will always be 100.

Based off of the scores I've seen here, we are all either a) geniuses like the world has never seen before or b) we are believing in this test to build up our egos (no i'm not talking about waffles either :)).
 
I once told my old class about intelligence, and I made them take an IQ test on Mensa's website...
One of them got 75...that's NOT good...

This isn't the "Accurate IQ test to put your results on a certificate and graduate Harvard", it's the "Vague IQ test to paste your results into your LiveJournal to feel self-important" :)

Can't be arsed taking this, I took part in a national IQ test on telly once. It went for a couple of hours and featured some celebrities and a studio audience composed of typical stereotypes like blondes and students. Anyway the test itself was supposed to be pretty accurate. I came up with something around 100-110, which is pretty much dead on average.

Edit - ARGH! I started a new page again, what's with this!?
