Who's looking forward to Mass Effect 2 ?

-snip-

Anyone notice?
I am shock.

Edit: Bioware keeps rolling out the free dlc.

Cerberus Assault Armor
Cerberus assault armor is designed for shock troops, turn the tide of battle against creatures or forces that would decimate normal soldiers.
Increases heavy weapon ammo capacity by +10%
Increases shields by +10%
Increases health by +10%

M-22a Eviscerator Shotgun
The M-22a Eviscerator Shotgun is a longer-range shotgun with armor-piercing loads. This design also violates several intergalactic weapons treaties, so the M-22a is not distributed to militaries.

I finished it. Found out something I thought was particularly interesting about the Geth from Legion.

The Geth are bulding a giant hub ship(no not the one from Legian's loyalty mission) that they plan to upload all "programs" into. But they don't have the technology yet. It's pretty much a Reaper. Sovereign offered the Geth an empty Reaper to upload into. Obviously the heretics were the ones to except, while the other Geth decided that the journey was just as important as the end-goal.
Overall, this is probably one of the best games I've played in a long time.

When I played Dragon Age, I kept skipping through some dialogue even on my first playthrough, and didn't really explore all of the conversation options. I just wasn't as interested as I perhaps should have been in exploring the world.

But in ME2, I asked every single question, exhausted every single dialogue tree. I just love this universe so much, I couldn't get enough.

Incidentally ... was anybody else seriously torn when it came to the decision about killing either Morinth or Samara? Seriously did not see that one coming.

It seemed pretty cut and dry to me. Morinth got deaded. She was a ****ing serial killer and I had no sympathy for her plight. That's like feeling sorry for someone with AIDS that purposely goes about infecting others. I would have killed her even if it didn't mean saving Samara.

The endgame decision was also pretty easy for me - blow the ****ing thing up. That shit is dangerous. Hell we couldn't even install the goddamn reaper IFF without getting the whole ****ing crew kidnapped.

Whether to reprogram or destroy the geth was a bit more difficult - but yeah, I blew em up. They decided to side with the reapers once and I saw no reason to believe that they wouldn't do it again. Now, a decision about whether or not to wipe out the entire geth race would've been really interesting.

The only thing I regret in this game is changing my decision to save the council in the original. The first time through I let them die, not because I didn't want to help them but because destroying the reaper was infinitely more important. Second time through I saved them ... a terrible tactical decision that cost thousands of human lives and unnecessarily risked the entire galaxy. And the ****ers didn't even trust me in the sequel, I told em to shove the spectreship up their ass (also probably not a great decision, but I don't really regret it).

I cleared all the quests leading up to the Omega 4 Relay...now its time to bang Miranda or Jack again and then I'm on my way! also I banged Jack before but no Achievement...any reason why it wouldn't give me the points or does it have to be sincere?? as of right now 500/10?? gamerpoints for the game

Man, the achievements for this were so easy compared to ME1.

pretty easy choice for me too
but does Morinth join your team if you choose to kill Samara??

yeah i'm hoping to get 100% complete with ME2...playing it on Insane with a Rogue redheaded bitch is going to be sweet

How do you avoid losing the loyalty of either Miranda or Jack during their "argument" after you've completed both of their loyalty missions?

How do you avoid losing the loyalty of either Miranda or Jack during their "argument" after you've completed both of their loyalty missions?

You just need a high enough paragon/renegade score. It needs to be pretty high to talk sense into them when they're arguing, but once you lose the loyalty of one of them you apparently need either a 100% paragon/renegade score to set them straight and make them loyal again.

Personally, I sided with Jack. Miranda can go die in a fire.

after you've completed both of their loyalty missions?

Herein lies your problem. Jacob isn't very interesting, but hell, he seems like a nice guy, I'll help him out, sure. As for Miranda, see the post above mine. **** her.
Miranda was the only one whose loyalty mission I didn't do. I hated how the game kept pushing her and Jacob onto me throughout the cutscenes. Fortunately for me, it all paid off in the end when Jack, oh Jack how I love thee for this, commented that no-one trusted Miranda to lead a fire team during the suicide mission, so Garrus did it instead. And lo and behold, the one person I wanted to die, died by accident in the last mission cutscene! Yaaay! Though I've no idea why, do any team member who isn't loyal die automatically?

I didn't have anything against Miranda. Sure, she's a designer baby and a bitch, but she's doing her job well and has her uses.

I never use Miranda. she's useless compared to Jack and ..the alien psycho doctor guy

Well, part of it is the fact that she's a boring and annoying bitch 90% of the time. But more than that - she just looks ****ing ridiculous. If I'm not wondering how Bioware expect me to take her seriously with her stilettos and vacuum-packed arse cheeks being shoved in my face all the time, I'm just cringing at how weird she looks. Seriously, I don't know what they did to Yvonne Strahovski - Miranda looks like she's been hit in the face by a truck.

for some reason some of the human characters look like they're in a constant state of surprise. it wasnt that noticable in the first game but in the sequel it seems to me that character's eyes are often messed up. most noticable on shepperd. sometimes he looks crosseyed or to be yellign with his eyes when it's supposed to be a quiet moment. this is jarring because the animation during conversations is the first game's strongest attribute

I think the camera angles sometimes misrepresent the distance between Shepard and whoever he's talking to, but I agree with you about the angry eyes - they come out of nowhere and just leave me confused about Shepard's emotions.

I think the worst thing about the conversations is how awkward Shepard's hey-I'm-coming-on-to-you-now smile is.

still didn't finish the game, they just keep throwing more at me :)

has anyone else had a ridiculous amount of trouble keeping everybody loyal? ...and by everybody loyal, i mean jack/miranda.

ive completed the game twice now and still cant get every team member to survive as i dont have enough paragon/renegade to diffuse the arguement or win them back after. i almost constantly took paragon choices first playthrough, then did new game+, and still couldnt diffuse the situation with 4/5 paragon bar full, i even left jacks loyalty mission until id done everybody elses.

its pissing me off

I'm 100% Paragon with almost all upgrades but I'm on the last mission and should be able to finish it tonight in the weee hours of the morning

Thane and Garrus are pretty ****ing awesome teammates, and characters. Thane's dark character is just sheer brilliance, loved his prayer during the loyalty mission, even if it was very short.

Also, are the Reapers ships or synthetic creatures?

Reapers are both organic and synthetic.

The reapers turn species into a genetic mush that they use to make a new reaper. It's why they were gathering humans.

Also, human reaper WTF??

read near the end of my summary for a short speculation on the point and reasoning of a
human reaper

I understand, but I'm still in shock that I was
pretty much fighting a giant Terminator.
Honestly it feels like the ending of Assassin's Creed 2 where
the final boss battle is a fist-fight with the pope.

read near the end of my summary for a short speculation on the point and reasoning of a
human reaper

This doesn't have to do with the Human reaper, but the Harbinger. In one cutscene, when the Collectors are first introduced (combat-wise) they show the Harbinger in some sort of control room. He looked exactly the same as the other Collectors. Could the Harbinger be more of a Prothean Biotic/Super Soldier. Prothean military is never really discussed, but as speculation, could a Prothean Commander/Captain/ High-rank just assume control of another Prothean soldier?
I keep using Prothean after learning that the Collectors are just Prothean slave that were modified and now remain under Reaper control.
That may be really out there, but the only other thing I can think of is maybe a Reaper controlling the Collector called Harbinger, who, in turn can control other collectors.

Husks are creepy as **** in ME2. Much creepier then ME1.

if ME3 were much darker would you all like it more or less...because the 1st game was much brighter and vibrant at times mainly because there were more outdoor firefights and exploration

They said Mass Effect 2 would be the darkest.

The same, it would take more then a change to the lighting to make me hate it more or less.

If they change that inventory system again, and not back to the way it was in ME1, then less. I want my loot!

I kinda miss the full exploration and loot system of the 1st but you did get a lot of junk. give me borderlands like options and then we'll call it game of the century.

And I just finished at about 40 hrs in. the 3 achievements i need are incinerate 25 armors(wtf why didnt i work on this!!) insanity mode and reach lvl 30...but right now i am very pleased with this game 96/100 for me

Everytime I finish the game, I leave an empty void inside me. You can continue the game after the suicide mission, but the N7 missions are so short and so story-less that they are next to pointless (can't wait to see if they release more interesting missions). Plus I want to see what happens with Tali.

Morinth was a serial killer, but was much more interesting of a character than Samara. I wanted to take Morinth, because I found Samara boring. But I chickened out and killed her instead.

Plus, she's a killer by nature, not by choice. It's in her genes. Thane is a more heinous person than she is, simply by virtue that he's in denial about the fact that he's a killer.

Miranda is a cock-tease. Everytime I go to her after a main mission she says she'll come visit me when it gets quiet, or sumit like that. I'm guessing this happens after you enter the Omega 4 relay. Now I have Tali, she is also interested but wants me to inform Miranda first. Decision time.

Also, just found Legion. Seems creepy.

Tali's Face

now ya happy??

also it would be hilarious if they used live action video for her face
