ok, I am using windows XP with service pack 2 I just wanted to restart my computer because I was messing with the registry :O , I was deleting spyware and adware. I used spybot, ad-aware SE and Norton antivirus 2004 but there was still some left in the registry. so thats why I was there...

My computer was working fine until I restarted, now my desktop wont load. The icons and the taskbar are not there and it just stays that way. I could pull up the task manager and run programs like explorer and stuff but I cant figure out how to load up my desktop. Can someone please help me?

yes getting a sound card is better for your CPU. It uses less clock cycles, thus giving better performance. But what I need to know is what would be the difference if I upgrade to a audigy2 ZS? I now have a audigy LS and what kind of performance increase would I expect?

I see, where can I get this bios for the video card? And is there some kind of risk in flashing this card? I am not planning to overclock my card anymore, I thinks its already good enough for me.

this may be off topic but I have a 6800nu clocked at 380/380 and when I play farcry for a while, it sometimes freezes. I checked what the problem was and it was my core downclocking to 350 stock speeds. I have rivatuner and 3d performance and 2d performance are both at 380 but low power 3d...

and vigilante if you get one, pray that it doesnt have damaged pixel pipes :p , you'll get a nice boost if you unlock the four pipes. I was unlucky, I get artifacts when I unlock them ;( but I was able to unlock a vertex shader pipe.... yay....

ok its fixed, I had to set it to standard 2d to 400 and performance 3d to 400 and now it show 400 in the monitor. now it idles at 44c :D with 12 pipes and 6 vertex shaders (unlocked) running at 400/750 Edit: I guess my card was beggin to get overclocked :cheese:
