Well, I've added a bit more to the map so it isn't as empty as it was. Its still not great, but I upgraded the texturing a bit. The lighting will be alightly darker in most parts too in the end.

Yesterday I was extremely bored, and a friend of mine thought it would be cool if I made a map based off of the old n-64 game f-zero. Since I had nothing else to do, I spent 5 hours straight mapping, and this is what I have so far:

first of all, in the pictures, your using the actual "textures" of the skybox. What you need to do is type "tool" in the texture browser and look for a light blue texture with "skybox" on it. Also, it would be a very good idea to take a look at this tutorial...
Yea, I am going to have fog, just havn't figured out how im going to do it, I already know an env_fogcontroller wont work in the skybox, and not at the bottom of the columns...... so if anybody knows how I would make fog in just a certian area.....
This is more than likely just the angle of the light_enviroment, change the angle/pitch of it to a higher number, like 50 or 60 and see what happens, also, check to see if the brightness is too low, or the ambient is too low. Also check for map errors and compiling errors.

the white specals are not because of the bumpmaps, that's just the picture losing a little quality because of being resized, and my gfx card doesn't support anti-aliasing.
