PC won't recognise extra new 1 gig RAM.

Have you tried disabling any dual channel options because it might be trying to run the DIMMs in dualchannel mode and not being able to, not totally sure about that, just a thought. Hope it helps.

    2 x 7800GT's or X1800 XL??

I'm kinda in teh same boat as you ren.182, can't decide on whether to wait for the x1800 xl/xt or get a 7800gtx. The thing that most concerns me is the fact that the 7800gtx only comes with 256mb of ram and it seems that games are demanding more video ram all the time. Will keep an eye on this...

    2 x 7800GT's or X1800 XL??

You might be waiting for the x1800 for a while because I think that ocuk have had alot of pre-orders.

    New Things

A gig of ram would be a better upgrade compared with upgrading the cpu. Also if you wanted, you could use the onboard sound card until you can save up for the audigy, that way you could spend the money you would have spent on the sound card on the other 512mb stick of ram.

Where can I go to get all I need to flash my video card bios?

any chance you could tell us that the bsod says, might be able to find a solution without flashing the video card bios because I think that some of the programs that you use aren't the most reliable and you could end up buggering up the card.

Ubuntu Breezy Badger 5.10 released! (linux)

So its pretty good then. It is a shame that you can't pick up as many games on linux as you can for windows systems. Just like to ask what the hardware support is like with the breezy badger, just wondering if its gonna like my wlan card..

    Which graphic card...

Alot! And I think they are gonna be pretty rare because of the mass ordering of them for when they are first released. You could pre-order one but you might have to wait. Check out prices here: http://www.overclockers.co.uk/acatalog/X1800_Series.html They are normally pretty resonable and...

Yeh that would be great if your willing to lend a hand! Just recently started using linux, and would like to start using it more and get more familiar with it since its excellent to have on your CV, if you are able to say that you are confident in both windows operating systems and versions of...

Jesus christ, that is insane! Aren't female black widow spiders among the most deadly in teh world??!! EDIT: I used to be pretty scared of smallish spiders until I went to texas to stay with my cousin for a month. While i was there I came across a few bigish spiders, the signature spider, i...

    Combat Missions

I have heard of a rifle attachment that you use along with a special vest that is linked to a monitoring program on a pc that allows you to see who shot you and where it hit you. Not sure what its called though, but its quite sofisicated i think.

    Which graphic card...

I would recommend that you got teh 6800gt or saved for the 7800gt as that would be a more future proof card if thats what you are looking for. The 7800gt is an excellent card for games jst now, and it will play games that come out in the near future alot better than a x800pro/x850pro even when...

I've never tried SuSE before, just Mandrake 10.1, Madriva 2005LE and FC4 and when I get home, I'll download the live Ubuntu 5.10 cd to give it a try. Hopefully it will have better hardware support compared with what i have tried before.
