How smart can the AI really be when they stand underneath a large cargo container only to have it dropped on them (in the coast vids)? Just kidding. But honestly, that did seem a little odd to me. I guess it was just scripted for effect, but in reality who would stand their and let a crane...
warm ketchup tastes better to me. Ketchup always tastes better at restaraunts - where it's warm at the table. But I always refriderate it at home anyway.
I hate it when games add (what I perceive to be) exaggerated head bob and lurching that occurs with each step. That's one reason why I've disliked games based on the Unreal engine. ALsp, for those that have played Thief 3 (I loved the game), but the movement in that was a little annoying. I...
The rocket thing was a little over the top in a way. But it was definitely funny to see the guy fly like that. Why can't you just gib people like in HL1? Honestly, I actually like the flying acrobatics better - it's just funny to watch. But at least a leg or something should get blown off...
Yea, those things are fun to mess around with. Sucks about Freespace 3 - Freespace 1 and 2 were a lot of fun - not enough spaceship/sci-fi games are made.
The game looked so close to release a year ago (or so I thought), and now with the preloading having already begun - how could it feasibly need another 5-6 months of development. In either case, this game better be damn near bug free upon release.
lol, I'm getting a kick out of everyone's responses - I guess I'm excited too. Unfortunately, I just started graduate school :/ Guess I won't be getting much sleep for a while once it's out.
lol, in a couple of days, they'll have used the leaked alpha engine and somehow figured out how to get all the media to work with it in some sort of jumbled fashion. I wouldn't be surprised, but I'm more worried about people throwing spoilers all across the internet.
Does anyone know if, when the entire game is available, if you'll have the whole game on your HD at once, or will it download levels as you get to them? I am asking because the only thing that's keeping me from buying from Steam is the fact that my high speed can be a little flaky, and I would...
lol
Those pics look nice. I like the use of bump mapping in HL2 - gives everything a very tactile look. Still haven't decided if I'm going to go with ATi or nVidia for my next comp. I don't have the money to build it now so I guess it doesn't matter.
Shit, it better live up to all we expect and more, especially with all this bullshit PR from valve. I actually haven't been playing hl or its mods much in the past year. I was going to start playing CS again, but moved to Phoenix and here my roomies' router has serious conflicts with Steam...
I'm just hoping that we're not sitting here talking about this shit a year from now and HL2 turns into another DNF. At least we're getting some hints of progress like the release of CSS Beta. DNF fans haven't gotten jack.
I just beat Doom 3 about 20 minutes ago, it's hard to say that the ending totally blew because tbh there really wasn't much of an ending at all :/
lol, how lame...
But overall, I definitely got my 55 bucks worth!!
near, the end, you see a barrel float in front of the sreen and then gets "thrown" near a zombie, then Gordon shoots the barrel and explodes it and the nearby zombie.
I guess it's just a video game, but a 55 Gallon drum full of fuel would be too friggin' heavy to lift. Too bad they at least don't show hans, maybe Gordon now knows The Force.
