I've played a little (about two hours) each day since the official release. That's about 20 hours. Good length for what it is, I'd say. I'm still not done; in fact, I just made it to hell!

Ummm, I think this is quite different Also, Steam wasn't as stable one year ago as it is now.

if the August 17th pre-load holds (becomes true) then a gold and official release must be announced very soon it makes sense. why would someone agree to order HL2 through steam without knowing when it'll be available/unlocked?

The only thing that truly freaked me out in D3, is that empty corridor where the disembodied female voice says something about her baby being taken away. *chills*

The HL2 tech demo (released a while back) rocks Doom3, IMO (as pointed out by 'Bling' above^)

The graphical steam (in a technical sense) may have been taken away a bit. But, yes, HL2 will reign supreme in the gameplay department, alone.

Gosh, Doom3 looks obsolete compared to those, lol Especially in stills.
