:)
Personally I found this hilarious.

Then this...
PS. It eventually turned out that first one was a joke, but still seeing the reactions of people was good.
Any other silly, hardware related shenanigans
The trouble with upgrading a computer made by someone like eMachines is that they often use custom sized equipment which means that an ATX powersupply might not fit, the same goes with a mobo upgrade as companies like dell and emachines etc use custom mobo sizes and different screw hole...
Yeah, graphics card first is wise, but as soon as you can mobo and cpu upgrade then 512 of ram. The graphics card will give a big boost in performance but that 1.8 celeron will also be holding you back some what. And personally i would go for the AMD option as opposed to the intel.
If you are looking to overclock though you will need a new cooler like the vga silencer (rev.3 works on x800, and rev 4 is due out shortly). I found the stock cooler very inefficient at cooling above stock. Plus a set of ram sinks help alot as the memory can get very hot.
Yeah, www.overclockers.co.uk have their own x800 pro with 16 pipes, this adds a considerable amount of performance to the card and is a steal at the price.
Tip for the arctic cooler - DO not put too much thermal compound on, just enough to take the 'shinyness' off of the gpu.
Also don't be afraid of tighhtening it on too tightly a sit has a very clever bendable bracket which stops you breaking the card and make sure there is no movement what so...
I wouldn't worry about your warrenty, if something goes wrong just replace the cooler with the original. No one will know the difference.
The arctic cooler is a very nice cooler, its got my x800 pro at xt ideling at a nice 30C and underload at 60-65C, so you can probably expect similar temps.
From a friends experiance its not the size of the mobo but the location of the screw holes that do not line up. I suppose you could drill new holes in the case if you required.
And yes 400 watts is fine as long as its a respectable brand and not an unbranded 400 watts or q-tec.
If its a custom made computer from a company like dell then they also use custom sized motherboards making it unlikely that it will fit in a different ATX case.
I know its not a very important aspect of a review but i hope they make decent front cover for the issue (if it is the HL2 review) I was rather dissapointed with the PCG Doom3 review cover.
I reckon just a black front with 'PC Gamer' in its usual place then in the middle of the front cover...
To see your power supply wattage open the computer case and look at the power supply unit, there should be a sticker with the wattage and voltages etc.
Are you installing the ati drivers on the disc that came with the card or using the windows auto install thingy.
As you must use the drivers on the disc and not the windows thing cancel it and use the cd.
Ok so i just installed a cga silencer rev 3 on a graphics card. All went swimmingly etc until i got to turnin the pc on, for some reason i was taken to the BIOS screen and asked to select cpu freq. I did this and saved and exited. Then a screen appeared with the name of my mobo in big colourful...
