No it doesn't. There are other differences.
1) Dynamic soft, fuzzy render-to-texture shadows for world objects and character models.
2) More realistic dynamic lighting / shadowmaps.
3) All the crappy old stretched over 16-bit 2D bitmaps as backgrounds have been replaced by real 3D...
At the advanced command line use the -dxlevel 70 command.
(80 for the DX8.0 rendering path, 81 for the DX8.1 rendering path, and 90 for the DX9.0 rendering path. I highly recommend not trying to force a DX rendering path that's greater than supported at the maximum by your graphics card!)

The Radeon 9100 IGP Pro is an integrated ATi chipset, so you have an onboard ATi DirectX 8 generation graphics board, that I'm not sure is supported by HL: S, but probably is. You'll want the latest drivers, keep in mind, for that particular chipset.
Also, some other things.....
You know how (due to some skeletal animation bug methinks) on the Quake 1.5 engine in HL, OpFor, and BS how when scientists or security guards press buttons, their mouths open to sync with the sounds? That's extruciating, annoying, and extremely odd. I hope this...
What BrownTown said...... may be VALVe Software is trying to have a variety of looks to the water, some might look different cause it's a top-secret research facility, you know.
Alright.... been thinking about this mod.... and I've got a few suggestions, and a question, please read on if you're interested:
Right then, first of all, how well do you intend BM: S to look, jheaddon? Just as good as HL2 / or better quality wise?
Secondly, I've got some suggestions...
You mean download like purchasable/pre-loadable via Steam?
Well, when both DOD: Source and HL: Source are made available for purchase seperate from the Silver / Gold Packages (as well as the Collectors Edition), probably.
Only in HL2 AFAIK. Very weird. By resetting the game's settings to default then back to maximum, I seem to have sorted out the issue - at the expense of more stuttering and jitteryness, for now.
And I have plenty of other games utilizing programmable pixel shaders and vertex shaders on my PC...
Yes. The only way you can buy HL: Source is via Steam paying for the Silver Package... which is $59.99. It includes HL2, CS: S, HL: S and DOD: S (when it's released). You can't get HL: S any other [legal] way.... quite a bummer, ain't it?
Couldn't think of a better forum to post it in.
Does anyone know where to get all the super-high def models (AKA the PS2 ones converted to the PC ones) for HL and HL: S?
The current sites I've tried such as the H.I.T.E one don't have all of em and they claim to... anyone know where to get...
I second that.
I say it should be for both HL2 and HL: Source, but the difference is the HL2 mod version will weigh much more than the HL: Source one as it'll probably just be a turn on/off-able upgrade. That's fair enough, isn't it? Unless VALVe Software have a problem with selling something...
Okay firstly I'm running a P4 2.2 Ghz, WinXP Pro and 512MB of RDRAM / ATi Radeon 9500 Pro setup, with all the latest drivers. Secondly, I'm running HL2 at 1024x768 with no FSAA, 16x AF, and all other details turned up to the maximum. HL2, aside from the stuttering and long loading times, was...
