A pregnant 13-year-old girl

I detect a lot of unnecessary hatred in that post.

Not hatred, frustration...but unnecessary all the same, apologies

I have a cousin who did nearly the exact same thing...twice. But they had to be aborted for medical reasons.

If she was dumb enough to have unprotected sex then I don't think the decision should be left up to her because she is obviously not capable of making such a decision. I hope it is left up to a sensible gaurdian ( Most likely not her parents who were capable of spawning such a dumb child). I also hope the sensible gaurdian chooses to abort, so that she doesn't have a dumb child who would most likely follow in its genious mothers footsteps and have a child at the age of 13.

*applaud* hear hear mate

let me guess, she was from the north? sorry but this country is full of stupid teenagers. i think its time to 'trim the heard' if you know what i mean

really? that's some intuitive 13 year old ...funny how my wife didnt know she was pregnant till 2 months into her pregnancy ..and she tested herself once a week ..sorry but unless you've missed something, I call BS

she didnt magically get pregnant when she returned, but the state of her pregancy put conception dat around when she ran away from the orphanage

Oh bugger off! :p

I'm tired of the whole "north/south divide" some people think the UK has... Believe me, the south has just as many stupid people as the north does. Problems aren't exclusive to the north of the UK...

She wasn't a slut - she was raped.

Since she is not over the age of 16, she is not able to legally give her consent. Therefore, it is statuatory rape.

But she still chose to have sex, her age changes nothing.

Do you know why we have a law that you are not legally able to give consent below the age of 16?

It is because it is deemed that below that age a child is unable to completely comprehend the situation.

In this case the girl was probably lied to, cajoled and influenced by someone who abused their position of power (by being older than the girl).

Should we hold a 13 year old responsible who was brainwashed into murdering someone? They still made the decision to agree with the adult who told them to kill. Send for the lethal injection!

What better punishment than to make her have that baby as a constant reminder of her **** up..

a less harsh one, perhaps?

Jesus, that's scary. The birth of a child solely as a means of punishment displays some really ****ed up morals.

i suppose the only suffering she will have too do is giving birth.. then she can give it away for adoption.. she will learn her lesson.

btw i think abortion should stay legal. :|

But the child is still a secondary concern, apparently.

I find it mighty disconcerting when the best you people can come up with is "Oh yeah! Make that bitch pay! Give birth to the runt! It's not like it matters, we'll just give it away for adoption."

It doesn't sound to me like the child's best interests are at heart when you view it as little more than a byproduct of punishment that can be passed on to whoever. In fact, the whole adoption argument seems like a way for people absolve themselves of guilt.

thats why abortion should only be an option in certain cases..

adoption is an option that is great, as thousands of couples that cant have babies will open thier arms at any chance they get.

giving your baby away to someone who would really care for it is better than abortion, but in some cases.. abortion is the only option

it's not easy to give away a baby after carrying it for 9 months ..its detrimental to the mother and the baby ..the baby needs to imprint with the mother right after birth ...not too mention that new mothers secreet a liquid (pre-milk, immediately after birth) that is essential to baby's development

yeah your right..

i wonder if theres any effects of abortions to babies (and thier mothers)?

if my gf/wife was having a baby i could never let her give it away.... or have it aborted..

but at the end if the day its her body...

the thing is that if she didnt want to tell you, you would never know she was pregnant ...contrary to popular belief there's only a small window of opportunity to perform an abortion

No it doesnt.. if she didnt wanna baby.. she shouldntve taken the necessary steps in making one. If she gets pregnant, she will have that baby.. no if's, and's, or but's about it.

If you dont want a baby.. dont be having one in the first place. It's not hard at all.

She was 13...easily impressionable and some dirty 40 year old man could have taken advantage, for example.

That kind of thing is child abuse, and in that kind of situation, people want to see her suffer further?

because your perfect right? you've used a condom every single time right? or is that a non-issue?
