I've never seen the swedish college student visit media, but there's not a shot of this whiteboard amongst any of that is there? Perhaps in an earlier stage when not all of this was written on it?

I wonder
I wonder if the username and password is the thing written above "Finish by Monday" that is scribbled out. It looks like two separate words, so it could be a username and password. (They may also appear encrypted, outside the picture). Interestingly, the first scribbled out word (username) seems to end with "4". Can anbody make anymore of it out?

Merc: when you die, what happens? Is it like Half Life 1 where if you kill an important NPC, it has an obituary thing saying something like "observation of subject: terminated"? Or does the screen just fade out to black?

i dont remember it saying anything but you do fall down and can see everything happening around you until you press a key then it loads up the last save point

The more I look at the randomness of the "CUT ITEMS" and "KEEP" lists, the more I think that they have something to do with the username and password. I've looked at the first letters of the words and the number of letters in each word. Somebody else check it out.

Well, just to add further to the speculation, merc said that he remembered something like vqr. Well this decodes into ide. However, since the dir name is pwn3d then perhaps it was actually qvr, which would be "die". Atleast that has a small correlation to the dir name. Unlikely, but vaguely possible.
Someone needs to e-mail Valve and see if we can't get a full picture of that white board. It was obviously meant to be solved, but seems immpossible with the left part cut off.
