Doctor Who: Season 4

The Sontaran Stratagem/The Poison Sky were awesome episodes and although i am looking forward to tomorrows episode it doesn't look that cool
.I would love to see Susan Again seeing as the doctor just abandoned her***ssell Has done a great job bringing back sontarans, daleks, the master,
and cybermen( i hear mondasian cybermen are coming back for the xmas special.)
And no,Gallifreyens are not the same as timelords.

I really want davros to come back this season.

I completely agree with samon. That episode was ****ing terrible!! D:

I loved it; i thought it was brilliant. I'm curious to know why the two of you thought it was so bad, though.

That episode was very poorly handled. They've basically solved one of the stronger themes - the Doctor's loneliness - in the briefest introductory scene imaginable, whacked through a story with no emotional power whatsoever and then gone... 'well actually, no!' at the end, giving a rushed episode significant weight in the lore, but no actual worth in itself.

Best of all about this Fourth season, the Doctor or his companions keep getting one-liner grunts as their temporary buddies and they still manage to come off as more compelling than Donna (before dying pointless deaths). I really wanted that Alien guy to pull through the episode. He knows how to shut up and he'd be the Doctor's Chewbacca or something.

"Well, what do you think, Alien Fish-man?"
*Shrugs*

That was absolutely awful. Who has the temerity to disagree with me?

Me. I enjoyed it.

It showed the hypocrisy of the doctors morals on war etc and besides that, Jenny was awesome.

Then again, why the hell am I argueing with someone that watches the show every week even though he hates it.

Why not watch something you`ll enjoy rather than wasting your time with something you know you won't.

It's a bit stupid sitting and watching something you hate just so you can slag it off on the internet.

You have a fair point, but I don't typically mind watching something that's outrageously bad. The writing, the storylines, the sci-fi – it's all incredibly shit in Doctor Who, but at the same it's 40 minutes of light entertainment. It's almost amusing, in a way. And Tennant is just awesome.

That really was rather crap for all the reasons Kupoartist stated. This could have been the start of a really, rather very interesting arc in the show, which would have been a really good way for the Doctor to grow out of his loneliness, but since Russel T. Davies hates arcs (The words Bad Wolf cropping out all over the place does *not* count as a story arc) or story points that last longer than two episodes, heaven's forbid that would happen.

Really rather crap really. And why was Martha there? What good did she do? Apart from that piece of bad over-acting when fish-man drowned.

Each to their own I guess, I thought it was good, not so much the actual plot, but the way the Doctor was shown what a twat he was being in regards to war was quite nice, although it didn't appear to sink in to him at the end, it was still nice to see the Doctor hold a gun in rage.

Besides, I like the fish dudes, and Jenny, well, she can come back anytime as far as I`m concerned :D

And Tennant is just awesome.
Agreed. He manages to pull off the tripe the writers typically give him in a very sincere and skillful way without ever making you think it's too serious. That and I want his babies.

I hate Jenny. Dear god I wanted to punch her. Blonde bimbo shouting "This is so fun!" as they're getting shot at. I smiled when she got shot.

What was with general whatshisname? He looked fairly old but if he should have been the same age as all the other artificially created humans, unless he was one of the original colonists who just happened to go completly insane after 7 days. And attempt to shoot the Doctor at the end seemed really out of place.

Martha was uselss in this episode. The only reason she seemed to be there was at a plot device to show the Hath from a sympathetic viewpoint. All she managed to do in the episode was get Fred Fishface killed and probably get herself cancer by going up onto the surface.

The firefights were absolutely shit. Incredibly so for an episode about a damn war. Also, the Doctor's big self-righteous speach at the end annoyed me.

I thought that

Also that. Seriosuly for a dangerous and radioactive surface it wasn't very dangerous was it? :|
Also if jenny was able to regenerate why didn't she change appearance then?

nah I didn't like the Girl In The Fireplace either :|

Amen to that, dude, Amen to that!!! :E

I thought it was obvious he was an original colonist, that didn`t want the war to end until the hath had been killed off as he was part of the original seperation and couldn't put his difference with the Haff aside. He also appeared to revel in war.

That's the reason he tried to shoot the Doctor when he realised that with this new utopia planet had been created there was no room for his kind anymore (warmongers), so he tried to get the only revenge he could.

I thought it was in keeping with his character established at the start with his pro-war trash.

Uhh I never liked little britain personally. Just the same stupid catchphrase repeated for 3 seasons really.

I don't think she regenerated. I think her healing was down to the magic terraforming stuff.

Yea I know
This post is funnier than Little Britain.

Fear Her Wasnt bad compared to "love And Monsters"
Love and Monsters was the episode before Fear Her (and was even worse) so my statement is still correct.

And I actually really liked Girl in the Fireplace. Some of the lines are fantastic but I liked the episode in general. "I didn't want to say 'magic door'" made me lol. Also, for some reason I really loved the idea of clockwork robots.

If that is the case then it's bad design IMO cos the weird gas stuff that came out of her mouth looked exactly the same as the weird gas stuff that came out of the doctor's mouth when he regenerated. o_O

I thought it looked more like the terraforming gas. IIRC they were both greeny while the stuff that the Doctor spewed up was red. I could well be wrong though.

If no-one else saw what happened in the terraforming room about 5/10 minutes before it happened...

It was so damned obvious, I just sat there waiting a whole two minutes previous to it wishing that they didn't. Just because it'd be too damned obvious. And far too much to bear. I literally said to Jenny's face (pointed at the screen and everything) "you're going to die".

While a lot of Doctor Who is predictable (after watching any number of sci-fis), this episode seemed a whole lot more so. And it wasn't particularly exciting. While I found the opening up of the Doctor quite interesting, the rest of the episode seemed a bit less... good (for want of a better word).

And yes, I only just got around to watching it on iPlayer.

Edit: As to some of the more subtle parts, I was too tired to notice. I didn't quite click that the general was an original separatist, although it seems obvious now. It could have been the terraforming gas which brought her back to life.

Yeah i found it really predictable as well. I said literally when I saw the old guy that "he'll kill her a the end"

I didn't see the Jenny coming back happening as I did think of it but then I gave the writers the credit of not wanting another spin off or character to make ties with :|

I just spent the last few days watching seasons 3 and 4. Loved the little twist at the end of season 3 with Jack ;)

Must be a spatio-temporal hyperlink.
: What's that?
: No idea, I just made it up. Didn't want to say "Magic Door"

Monsieur, be careful!
It's just a nightmare, Reinette, don't worry, everyone has nightmares. Even monsters under the bed have nightmares!
What do monsters have nightmares about?
Me!

Go! and take Arthur!
Arthur?
Fine name for a horse.
No you can't keep the horse.
Why not? I let you keep Mickey!

What the hell is going on?
Oh. This is my lover, the king of France.
Yeah? Well I'm the Lord of Time.

What's a horse doing on a spaceship?
Mickey, what's pre-Revolutionary France doing on a spaceship? Get a little perspective!

Loved the little twist at the end of season 3 with Jack ;)

Good thing it's not true then, isn't it?

For the record, I disliked TDD (that's no good, it has the same initials as The Doctor Dances!) for the first twenty minutes or so. Then suddenly it became really rather good and I found myself bounding around with the action and shedding manly tears when she died and then beaming when she came back to life. Then furiously jerking off later over the thought of an incestuous threesome with Jenny and the Doctor. With Martha watching. And Rose tickling my balls from behind.

The "Exclusive Clip" of next week's episode on the DW site tells me that I will love the episode already. Agatha Christie looks fantastic.

It is true, confirmed by Julie Gardener in the commentary for the episode.

I'm going to look into it more because I almost absolutely certain that it is true.
