Grand Unified HL2 Theory (the end of all Questions)

My posts have become invisible?
It's a HEV Mk.5, from Kleiner, if I was a betting man I would bet on it.
But I'm not. :)
 
I agree with Eejit that Kleiner is likely to have it. There was a video some time ago taken from a German magazine showing Alyx introducing Freeman to Kleiner early in the game. It makes sense that he starts without it because I doubt Breen knows what Freeman looks like, just that he was the pawn who conducted the experiment. Breen would instantly realise who was back from the dead if Freeman arrived in City-17 wearing the HEV suit. (It's my little theory that the G-Man has kept Freeman's survival a secret.)

I figured as much... hence the :p

Personally, I reckon it's Alyx that made it. She's the one who seems to be the tinkerer/inventor... and I've got my hunches that she's the daughter of the woman that designed the HEV (I forget her name)... remember that Alyx's odd resemblance to [the holographic trainer/one of the girls from decay] keeps popping up...
 
Ah, Dr. Green? Maybe Dr. Cross, can't remember - but the older one. She's the one who was scheduled to test the prototype Mk.5 with Kleiner supervising. My bet's still on him since he has a confirmed connection to the HEVs, while Alyx's is hypothetical. :)
I suppose she might be Alyx's mother, the age fits since she was 35 at the time of the incident.
 
Well, if you look at the holographic trainer lady, and then at Alyx, they do look somewhat similar...
 
Is there actually any official info telling us that the HEV in HL2 will be a Mark5?

No, not afaik.
But it is different from the Mk.4 (hl1) and a Mk.5 had been in development prior to the incident.

well i remember that gordon wore a HEV MK.4 suit in half-life 1 ,maybe thats why it looks a bit diffrent, but what does this MK.4 actually mean ?
and if h-l2 takes place 10 years after the original 1 wouldnt there be some better suits than this 1 ? :afro:

Mk.4 and Mk.5 are just designations to show that they are different 'versions' of the suit.

Yeah it's 10 years after, but most Black Mesa scientists were killed and the world looks a bit messed up. I don't think designing a Mk.6 would be that high on the list of priorities of the survivors.
 
I seriously think that Alyx is Gina(aka holographic training woman)'s daughter. Gabe mentioned that her mother died in Black Mesa I think. Or did she? I don't trust Gabe to tell the whole truth...what happened to Gina? Also, if Gina helped with the designing the Hazard suits it would make sense she gets to be the holographic mascot.
 
OK lets presume that this Gina woman helped in the creation of the HEV. Because of this, she helped in the training of HEV users. Gina and Eli got together and had Alyx. Gina died in BlackMesa when resonance cascade happened.

As a monument to Gina, once out of BMRF, Eli built the HEV Mark 5. Gordon.reappears, the resistance regains faith because of this, and so Eli gives Gordon the HEV Mark 5 so that some serious punishment can be given out to avenge Gina's death or suttin.
 
I don't think that's the case, Esquire, because Gordon already has the suit by the first time he meets Eli in HL2, as shown in the E3 2004 vids...

Yeah, but IMO he meets Kleiner before meeting Eli, which would explain that.
 
do you really think this Gina woman and Alyx are one in the same?!! It's crazy man. And also, quite unnecessary.

We know Alyx is the daughter of Eli and some other BM person.

But I won't go against your theory since I don't know what Half-Life:Uplink is. Tho the word "demo" comes to mind.
 
So in that case it would be Kleiner who gives it to him, not Eli...

[EDIT]: Esquire, noone is saying Alyx and Gina are the same person. Some of us think that Gina is Alyx's mother...
 
Really? The words 'co-op mode exclusive to PS2 version of game' come to mind.

In which you and someone else play Drs Gina Cross and Collette Green. Anyway, there is no indication in Decay that Gina and ALyx are related...but they look similiar and it would be a nice tie-in, that Alyx's 'dead' mother was someone you knew...

OK, so there's no real evidence. But I'd like to believe it's true.

That wasn't an actual realistic theory, that was more of a laxydazy fairy tale.

O was it. I'm strictly PC so I didn't know that. I thought i read somewhere online that it was a demo of Hl1, so i thought I'd put down that "tho 'demo' comes to mind" so that i didn't look like i didnt know alot about HL.

What was this small debate about...well, I think it was about you thinking I said I though Alyx was Gina. But no, I think Gina is Alyx's mother. Not her, her uncle or anyone else.

Ahhh!!! It all makes sense now. i missed the "..'s daughter" after "...Alyx is Gina(aka holographic training woman).."

Make some bets about some storyline elements of Hl2. 'Whoever wins gets a thread named after them!' or something like that

Onto something else...anyone else think that Xen will be 'melding' with Earth?
 
No, I just think we'll be seeing the intrusion of the Xenian ecosystem, like in OP4... I reckon that's what Gabe meant by "Bringing bits of Xen to Earth", or however he said it... I think there'll be zones where the Xenian ecosystem has taken over, with that fungusy stuff and those weird pods. Healing pools too, perhaps...

Anywho, my latest Hl2 storyline Theory.

I'll put it in spoilers to tempt and tease but also cos it could be a MMMAAASSIVVVE SPOILERRRRrrr!!!!



City17 is actually a City on another planet. Some humans have been stolen from Earth using Xen (which Gman&co has lost control of) as an express access. The humans are abducted from Earth and taken back to the Combine world (a name in progress). Once there, the humans are stored until it is time for them to be assimilated by the Combine. Once the Combine forces are strong enough, the Combine will attack Earth and rape it of it's resources.

And that's where Gordon comes in. He is purposely abducted by the Combine so that he is taken to Combieee Worrrrllld!!!

Remember Gman, "The right MAN (human, Gordon) in the wrong place (Combie World) can make all the difference in the WORLD (Earth saved by Gordon causing trouble on Combie World)"

So Gordon's there on Combie World kickin ass. He defeats the Combine, Gman appears and tell's Gordon that the Aliens don't need killing as they pose no threat to Earth, Gordon and other humans teleport back to Earth.

And Gman & Co perform experiments on Combie World, dissecting Ant Lions and such.

NO. No, I'm being serious I have not played the stolen version of Hl2. All that is there is pure speculation.
 
I doubt it.

The VALVe guys refer to the world Gordon's on as if it really were Earth, and if it were a Combine planet, I think it'd be a little more developed and less overrun by such things as Antlions...
 
Regarding the G-Man's comments, I think City-17 is the wrong place. That's a no-brainer, but I think the Combine (the tower) is unique. In various screenshots it looks as if it is gradually developing over time and so is the first real target for the G-Man to try and dismantle the enemy.
 
I think I'll ask Abom to clean this up if you guys keep spamming around here.....
