Had a good BF2 day?

I finally got veteran engineer. Yes, that means I now have every veteran combat badge. Wootness.

Congrats!

My next vet badge is something I don't see myself getting -- ground defense. Unless there's something else I can grab besides a stationary gun or TOW missile, I guess I'll have to settle for some bronze staring back at me.
 
Couple decent rounds, was playin with some old mates from my CS Source days, good laugh. Also went in the commander seat for the first time in years. Dalian, with a bunch on randoms, other clan member was Yank Commander, we PLA owned the round :D

So a good day overall. Got the Knife one on Karkand, 64 players, near the Warehouse got a bunch of kills, at the start had pwned a couple by charging their spawn :p Then finished the deal (then died) Just said to myself at round start 'Right, im gonna get it' and i did :D

In the past two days I have downed 3 chopers by taking out the pilot with the .50 sniper rifle. I dont know if its easy for anyone else but I had been trying to do that for a couple weeks.
 
Something wierd happened today, I rushed a tank head-on where we were literally head-butting each other. Since I got first shot I ended up killing him first but somehow immediately after I was killed...but my tank survived. I'm curious how that happened :|

I think Nightshade was with me too, so he might've gotten smoked as well :(

I've also noticed a greater amount of people trying to snipe me out of the chopper lately (unsuccessfully), wonder if it has anything to do with the crazy buffs the Sniper got ...
 
Taking a chopper out with a single bullet is greatly satisfying.
 
Oh god....

The APC now shoots anti-perssonel only Heavy Armor Piercing rounds.

I killed a guy inside a APC, 2 guys inside a chopper (It circled around and flew away after I shot it), and a guy inside a jet as well.

WTF?

True, but it's not easy. I managed that maybe 4-5 times. One round the chopper was hovering much and I tried many times and managed to shoot the pilot out only one time, but the chopper was then on the TV tower. The problem is, the M95 has a quite long steadying time and the heli usually is in motion, even when it's hovering.

Yeah, I know. It took me a while to realize that I had to be very patient and wait for it to hover over a flag or position itself for its gunner. Only one of my three kills was when it was moving forward and I happened to lead it perfectly. It was the MEC attack chopper and I killed the pilot and then it slammed into the metal beam that crosses between the two construction buildings on Sharqi. It blew up instantly and killed the gunner as well. Needless to say I felt like a total badass watching the flaming wreckage as I reloaded the rifle.

I don't think I managed to kill the pilot, causing the chopper to crash with the gunner, i'd love to do that ;). It was either only pilot, or the gunner switched to the pilot seat afterwards. Recently the chopper even fell to the ground, but it was like 5-10 meters above the ground and didn't blow up and the gunner switched and flew away for repairs :|
 
I think the best thing I've ever done was in karkand in August. I sniped the pilot out of an attack chopper from easily 200m away. The chopper proceeded to fall and take down the enemy tank directly below it.

Yeah, I wish I had gotten it on FRAPS or something. This was before I started playing with the other HL2.net guys, so of course I have no witnessess :(

I did that once, except replace snipe, with AT rocketed the chopper pilot out..and it fell, killing the copilot, and the 2 guys under it.

Then on Zatar, I was hiding below the chopper pilot before it could spawn, because the enemy had the flag...and they got in, I ran up, shot an AT at it for shits..it look out BOTH the pilot and copilot, and then just stole the chopper away :D...they were prolly pissed..because the time before that, I shot out the pilot but the co got me.

Yeah, good times.
 
Yesterday, I was playing on Sharqi Peninsula. I was running around and saw a M1A2 (I were MEC) driving towards a flag we had, I took cover and saw a friendly attack helicopter fly past both me and the tank, the guy in the tank jumped up and took over the 50.cal and opened fire towards the chopper and I saw my chance.
I opened fire against him and got him (though, stupidly enough, he just sat there like there was nothing happening) after a couple of seconds.
I then ran towards the tank and stole it, which I then drove to the nearest enemy flag and started slaughtering the poor yanks. But the odd thing was that they just walked around like if I didn't existed. It felt like I was playing singleplayer because they just behaved very odd, like bots.
I killed around 19 guys, all by myself, before I managed to take the flag. I saw then that one guy tried to kick me, although I guess it had to do with the slaughter at the flag I asked why he wanted to kick me. No response though.
Ah well, it was fun though. Not very often you get to dominate so much like I did. :p

Oh, I got a question. Do you guys have any tip how to get the Basic Knife Combat Badge? You need both it and Basic Pistol Combat Badge to get to the Master Sergeant rank.

Night flight:

Drive around in a quad, spot an enemy, get off, knife him in the back. Repeat.

You know, if it weren't for the fact that they said they fixed it, I would think that you had a name color bug in your favor.

Hehe, though I hear that the "color bug" still isn't fixed. I haven't seen it in the latest patch myself though.
 
It's not fixed at all. I've had games where literally 14 teammates appear as enemies, or vice-versa.
 
lol bvasgm, total ownage.

I've really got to stop killing people with the shock pads. It's fun and funny, but isn't going to get me any awards. :LOL:
 
Flashbangs last 3 decades and 50 minutes, I thought they mentioned toning down not incapacitating you permanently :(
 
I got flashbangs recently & I'm enjoying them too much.

One of my favorites is to flash a tank & my squad can usually eliminate it quite easily from there.
