I am visiting Valve today!!!

Ok guys Steam has got a new update out. In the Steam forums they are talking about tou merc!
 
I remeber some1 before said they visited valve and took pictures of the hl2 box and stuff , ne1 know where i can find those , this was like months ago. thanx again merc

As for everyone having a go, dont take it too personal, some people just live to bitch and whine....

I also got a coupla questions for you:
1) Did you see any smoke grenades going off? If so how good did it look and was there any slowdown when they went off?

2) Where the guys from valve really that bad at CS!? :naughty:
 
I have one question:

How did the character models in CS:S look compared to CZ models? It's hard to get a good look at them in the vid.

Prolly they lost on purpose to merc, by being kind? :p

Then again, I'm sure Gabe wouldn't miss a chance of showoffing his 1337 CS skills.
 
When they loaded CS:S,
1:how were the load times for the maps?

2:and Did the main menu look the similar to CS?

3:If so was it the same tidy, fast to use with no unnessesary effects?

4:The same qestions for HL2(i you saw anything)
 
did physics play a more prominent role in cs, like did it seriously affect gameplay?
 
1. Were the weapons a lot different because of the high detail now?

2. Gameplay change a lot? (Because of the physics and etc)

3. Were the players' faces very detailed? (Did you go up to any teammate real close and notice details on the face?)

4. Were there a lot more effects from blasting at stuff with the para (boxes falling over, sound effects from hitting a door to the ground to a box..., dusting coming up?)

5. Anything else you can describe about the dust map?
 
the character models are almost complete, but im not sure if they are quite finished yet... i didnt see any smoke nades go off, but i did see a cool flashbang effect... and the whole time i played there was no slowdown

LOL I bet Gabe didn't play... he was all like 'oh I'll just be over here for a while.' Waits till everyone engrossed in fragfest, then pulls out his manipulator(didn't realise that was going to sound quite so porno!) and makes a grab for the guarded keys to the muffin cupboard! 10 minutes later Cliffe notices they're missing and has to call the game off, runs out and finds the prostrate form of Gabe covered in crumbs and chewed up muffin wrappers. He goes to chastise him; but his heart just melts as he sees the great big blueberry filling smile on Gabes face as he emits a baby burp! :burp:
 
no i didnt see gabe play but he did talk some smack when i killed someone in the offices

Thanks Merc for the info. When I was reading through, you said HL2 multiplayer, vehicles can be implemented, does that mean they're going to put vehicles in at a later stage?

Whats the character movement like for CS: S, similar to orig CS or changed?

Appreciated.

Thanks for the pics and info Merc,you are a lucky guy that got the chance to visit Valve.
I would like to go there myself this year when im going to USA for a vacation,but i havent been invited.
Maybe i should send a mail to Gabe and ask him for a tour in September.

A flashbang is a non-lethal grenade which emits a blinding flash on detonation. The flash, combined with the overwhelming sound are designed to shock and confused enemies, temporarily blinding and deafening them.

body movements are a bit more realistic in cs source... they seem a lot smoother and arent so awkward

Merc, were there any objects lying around that could be moved like barrels boxes etc, while you were playing CS:S?
