yes there were some bricks and barrels and wood planks and sheets of metal laying around that i could shoot around and they would fall over and stuff or i could use them for cover until someone shot them away.. it was sweet

Sounds cool :)

merc, I have to ask, was there still a slowdown after jumping? :)

i cant remember if there was or not.. sorry that i didnt pay more attention to detail, as i only played for 5 minutes or so

and what about the zoom delay (with the awp) ?? :\

again, i cant remember if there was a zoom delay with the awp i only used it for a shot or two

Merc, how did the character faces/bodies look? Did they react to the lighting very well?

Nice info Merc thanks!

Although it sounds like your afraid to say to much, but I'm not to fussed. Just means more to look forward to when HL2 finally comes out.

BTW, did Counter-Strike CS make any use of the new physics system in terms of gameplay?
For example, did barrels blow away on grenade explosions? :sniper:

He's answered this twice now.. besides, people ask questions like "how do the model movements look?" and what not.. we've seen a video of CS: Source, people.. go look at that if you want some general questions answered :)

lol just noticed. They STILL haven't fixed the arms... Suckage :( How hard can it be to create a few different sets of arms & detach them from the weapons models (doubt they are connected in the same files though)? Come on...

I want some more info on DoD:Source goddamnit! :bounce:

Merc: Did they say anything more\showed you stuff from DoD:Source ? :naughty:

Anyway, nice one Merc :E

How do you conclude this? did merc mention it?

Yeah, I concur that the arm models, coupled with the rather crap looking M4, really detract from that shot. Here's to hoping the finalized weapons look better

The arm in the pic he took is extremely similar to the one in standard CS. Sure a few models have short t-shirt on them (kinda) but I sincerely doubt they have fixed it. Dunno why though :)

The arm models in Conditon Zero have been greatly improved, though. They look much better than they used to

i wasnt showed anything about dod source just told that it was being ported over to the source engine right now..

Did you ever see the C4 go off at a bombsite? If so, how sweet were the physics coupled with the explosion?

no i never saw the c4 blast... but i did see things flying around the map when explosions happened and it was really cool..

no i didnt see gabe play but he did talk some smack when i killed someone in the offices

Gabe talking smack: "lolz omgzors look at m3|2c pwn teh 0ff!3c 3mpL0y33$

btw, was there like 14 windows open while playing cs?

Great job Merc! I would have been going nuts to be there so I know I wouldn't have written a 10 page report while I was there and taken 300 pictures either. I cleaned up your image of CS Source a bit for those that care to see.

It's mostly clothes on the arms (or lack thereof) that annoys me. I haven't seen that in CZ. Have they fixed that?

here is some awards that they have gotten

you have all probably seen these before

Ohh, that's what you're talking about. Specific arms for specific skin selections. In which case, no, that's not been changed.

The left hand looks a bit "weird", or is it just me?

Looks like a stub.. more appropriately, it looks like the old arm models from CS

Yeah, I heard they were making a movie too:
Bowling for Combine ;)

I think we'll see this feature in CS2...hope so :)

Changing hand skins for each weapons would just be lame, like if you have a lot of different weapon skins in 1,6

For for the models i think it would be nice, but only if they were special in some way.. like a knife they have in the predator film :E

Did you understand his complaint?

Let's say you're the Guerilla Faction on Terrorist. The arm models when you hold weapons are bare armed. Fair enough, but, when you're on CT, with full body armor and covered arms, they're still bare.

He wants matching arms (v_weapon.mdl) for the different skin selections (player.mdl)

Besides, there are 5 skin selections in CZ now :)

Didn't DoD do this with submodels?

CoD doesn't appear to have problems with this (at least in SP) & there you could pick up enemy-specific weapons too. I don't think it's constrained to the weapons. They are most likely on a different file. But assigning different files such as arms to different choices can't be that hard. Sounds pretty basic to me.

if
{ player chooses CT_1 }
then
{ use handmodel_1 }

Yep, very easy to do. Instead of having v_m4a1.mdl you would have four versions: v_m4a1_sas.mdl, v_m4a1_gign.mdl and so forth.

I can see why they haven't fixed it if that's how it's constructed. That system is kinda dumb wouldn't you say? :)

im pretty sure it would be even easier to make the hands independent of the gus that way you dont have to go handmodel_m4a1, you can just have handmodel_ct-sas, and handodel_t-leet

Yeah 4 arms per team (depending on how the skins look obviously) & then attach the weapons on screen as separate items.

OH and I'd really wish they give the CT Team a more realistic look. I mean one is green the other blue and one black... And the terrorists really look like bad guys from a Chuck Norris movie.
