Glad to see that there are some people in Kansas who still have their respective heads on straight. Now that is where an ID discussion belongs--in a religion class. This whole thing has gotten way out of hand. I hope the Supreme Court can decide wisely on this and soon. :(

Another day, another round of ID v. the scientific community. This time, the University of Kansas has flat-out rejected the redefinition of science that its own state has perpetrated. The school will be offering a course entitled "Special Topics in Religion: Intelligent Design, Creationism and other Religious Mythologies."

"The KU faculty has had enough," said Paul Mirecki, department chairman.

"Creationism is mythology," Mirecki said. "Intelligent design is mythology. It's not science. They try to make it sound like science. It clearly is not."

Good on them. I'm glad to see the eggheads standing up for themselves :)

YES!

Although I tried to post another thread about this, without first searching... damn my slowness.

Awsome! I am glad they are doing this.

Reminds me of the day my science teacher went on about how ID/creationism is a belief...natural selection/evolution is a fact. I am pretty sure that is rather illegal now but it was his last year. Great class that was.

\O/

It's nice to see that people have brains, and balls.

they have their work cut out for them

here's the transcripts from the Kansas Evolution hearings.

here's a list of people who testified against evolution (who for the life of me cant understand why they would testify as some of them have about as much experience in the field of evolutionary biology as I do, which is zilch. There are however various phd's but mostly in unrelated sciences)

here's an example:

Bryan Leonard, MA High School Biology Teacher and candidate for doctoral degree in science education

John H. Calvert, J.D. Lawyer, specializing in constitutionally appropriate ways to teach origins science in public schools, Managing Director of Intelligent Design network, inc

Roger DeHart, BS High School Biology Teacher, Oaks Christian High School in San Diego

Stephen Meyer, PhD History and Philosophy of Science

Nancy Bryson, PhD Assistant Professor of Chemistry

the kangaroo court was set up by this organisation:

http://www.intelligentdesignnetwork.org/

who's moto/slogan/purpose is:

"Intelligent Design Network, Inc. is a nonprofit organization that seeks institutional objectivity in origins science."
