One of my good friends is moving to California this weekend, so we need to make sure hes hung over for the drive.
It's shit.I played half of the first level of the single player and got bored.
That's the main issue I have. The maps are so compressed that you can barely stand anywhere for five seconds without getting shot at by someone. There's 10x more knife kills in this version. I don't get why they'd go in that direction.having a lot more fun with it now, still gripes here and there. i think my biggest issue is that the maps feel a lot smaller than in the first BC, or at least the layouts feel more linear and streamlined
I find the conquest maps to be better than the rush ones.
In design maybe so... but Rush gameplay feels much more cohesive.
Rush gameplay is more cohesive, but it's also chokier and spammier. Because of the difference in gameplay conquest maps are far much more open in terms of flanking.
Personally I prefer Conquest because I prefer the type of gameplay it emphasises, though your milage may vary.
game is being a right pain in the arse tonight on the 360. i'm getting loads of lag and not being able to connect to EA online, and when i do get into a game barely anyone else is there. hope it's server trouble and not my internet causing me grief.
It wouldn't work as a rush map though, they can't be that open.really enjoying panama canal, just wish it was a rush map. love the setting.
Try going to the server list rather than 'Play Now'. Play now can either throw you in a great game, or put you in a game that has no one in it. It's kind of broken in that sense.Tried the multiplayer for the first time just a few hours ago and... there were not that many people online. :|
First match it was me against two other people and then I quit that and was hooked up with a match only half full. And the game seems way quieter than the beta/demo.
Can someone clear a few things up for me?
When you throw a medpack how long do you have to wait before it heals? Do you have to crouch over it or does it have a range? Does it only work when the "heal sound" activates?
And if I spot someone is it just for my squad or the whole team?
It wouldn't work as a rush map though, they can't be that open.
I'm disappointed with the 40mm smoke grenades, the smoke lasts for like 4 seconds. I was expecting an actual cover of smoke..something I could use to capture a flag or an m-com. But with this...I barely have any team to even run to my smoke before it's disappeared.
... I think you can keep it up.

I had a great time using the smoke attachment on Valparaiso and Isla whatever the other day. You've just got to remember that the ammo crate resupplies smoke grenades instantly. When things turn into a complete cluter**** of a stalemate as they often do, just sit on an ammo crate and spam the living shit out of everything in and around the objective and your teams approach.
Maybe I was just lucky, but nearly every time within 20 seconds my teammates were actually moving forward and getting the crates armed in the confusion. Then just smoke the M-COM once and lay down a thick screen between the crate and where the enemy will be generally be coming from. The enemies rushing to defuse won't be able to see shit until they're actually on the crate itself, where they're quickly gunned down by your waiting teammates. It can definitely work well in the right situations.
When you're defending smoke can be useful too - especially when your team's trying to disarm a badly exposed crate. It's pretty tough when the entire enemy team can take potshots and snipe you from a mile away. Just putting up a quick screen can make all the difference.
