Homosexuality is not wrong or particularly disgusting. I would say that sexual relationships between the same sexes are but that is my opinion, and I am sure some homosexuals view intercourse between a man and a woman the same way. But the point is, and the topic of this thread is Should the government fund thier events and recognize thier month. I say no. The government should not fund any parades or holidays, it should be left up to the organizers to find money. Does anyone know how a holiday is officialized? I don't.

Having a Gay Pride month is segregating them even more, giving fuel to peoples hate. What needs to be done is to breach the gap, and get them back into society, not having pride parades and months. Which brings up to topic of gay marriage.

While this may not be "legal" according to some religious sects, the US should regonize it. It was not causing any problems before, why is it any different now? If you were walking down the street i would bet you money that you could not point out a gay or lesbian. (I am talking about the regular ones, not the ones in tight leather pants...etc which IS NOT the majority). Unfortunatly, as with anything to do with hate, the extreemes are seen as the majority, and this is simply not the case. If you actually talked with a a homosexual, all they want is to be able to get married, adopt children, and live NORMAL lives.

Homosexuality is not a mental illness or condition: it is an alternative sexual orientation. That's something compeltely different. You might as well argue that, say, an attraction to dark-haired women over others is also a mental illness - it's the same thing, but less extreme.
