Stern's countdown to 30,000 posts

You should get a title for the hell of it. I don't think there's any justice in the world if you, Stern, have a title of "scanner" and will inevitably have to put up with a title that is used by other people elsewhere including z0mbin3, or even someone as humble as myself.

And damn, Raziaar, you can't have a "banned" title unless you have actually been banned :p.
 
I'd rather have my postcount set back to a couple thousand than all the way to one. But you'll get that back soon I guess.

I think Comradebadger had that custom title before becoming a mod.

meh I'm pretty confident I can bitchslap most people who would think I'm an easy target :)


although if I could change my postcount I'd either put it permantly to 0 or 1 ...and if I had a title it would be something unrelated like sockmonkey or dirty sanchez

Why exactly was Sulk demoted? Nothing in this thread justifies it. Were there other threads that were deleted?

I remember back in the day when men were men, women were women and sheep were afraid, someone made a thread about him dreaming of being banned from hl2.net. The Almighty Zemerski then descended and changed the guy's title to "banned" and uttered the immortal words "Zemerski, making dreams come true". That's the only occasion I can recall.
 
I thought it was Zerimski, the arch-admin. :p
 
Zerimski (not Zemerski, lol :p) also changed all the user titles to Futurama quotes at one point, but Munro didn't find it very amusing.
 
I thought it was rather funny.... Better than our current ones, I suppose.

It was explained in better detail somewhere, but Munro didn't take a shine to it and demoted him.

Sulkdodds said moderating was aburden, anyway.

We really need a hall of fame for this kinda stuff.

I think it was, but instead of learning that by seeing Stern exceed 30k posts, we saw the title on a moderator that edited his post count. Don't remember who that was. It was lame, though :|

Epic Locks are Epic. And I believe, yes. The Gman is the final title. Or at least, unless they're lying.
 
The funny thing is, in 3 months Stern'll be a Combine Overlord again.
 
That means we'll soon The Stern Ascension will happen again soon... *sigh*

Once, there was a crature called the STERN. An entity that cannot be properly described through our limited vocabulary. The STERN's intentions were to be a contributional member of our community and it was not evil, but it brought paradox and chaos wherever it went.
The STERN caused mayhem, until it was captured and contained. It lived a peaceful life in the Politics District, had a wife and children. The community came to respect it. Ever since then years were recorded using the Stern Calendar. This was the beginning of the New Era(NE).
But one day, the STERN became too powerful once more. The community was alerted, but they had not known what to expect. War began. The community had started to turn on eachother. The very fabric of reality had begun to unravel.
The Councilor Sulkdodds, who had then recided in the Temple of the Staff had heard of what was happening. He knew what had to be done. Councilor Sulkdodds acted as an anthithesis to the STERN. Both their actions brought upon what can only be described as madness, but Councilor Sulkdodds knew this was the only way to save the glorious community.
During the year 1134 of the New Era, Emperor Munro was contacted finally. He had his Council capture the STERN and contain it. Then the Councilor Sulkdodds was brough to him, accused of abusing his power. Perhaps it was just, perhaps not. Some details wil never be clear.
But the Stern Ascention is remembered.
 
This is the first time the Stern Ascension happened, but it will probably happen the next time Stern acquires 30,000 posts.

Will Councilor Sulkdodds be here the next time it happens?

You've got it all wrong, my brothers! All wrong!
The Mayan culture had predicted an unforeseeable amount of destruction would occur during the year 2012. Those people just weren't great at Math, though. They had claimed 2 + 2 = 5, which is just wrong. Left behind from a long extinct culture, who existed far before this life of the universe had begun, was a sacred tablet. It warned of the possibility of the largest incident to ever occur, which would result in total destruction of regular space time and life as we know it, and possibly, the rise of Biozeminades.

This couldn't happen. The Mayan god of time, Sulkdodds, traveled to the year 2008 and could not return to his original time. When he realized that you cannot divide by zero, he realized his mathematics and calculations for time travel were flawed and he was not in the year 2012. He was angry, but posed flawlessly as a regular member of the Halflife2.net staff.

He could remember when he traveled to the past. A large amount of exotic energy, focused and released by the original ascension. The flux capacitor he had was shattered. The universe grew by tenfold and reduced in size exponentially as the energy became less active. Across several billion years, the energy, scientifically known as Sternergy, collided and eventually caused the Big Bang.

When Sulkdodds knew that it was coming, he realized that their calculations of the original date of 2012 were incorrect. He took a stand in defense of space time as we knew it, and protected us all from destruction and annihilation. We owe our lives to him.

The damage could have been much worse, if it weren't for him. Munro realized the potential for total destruction by Stern and covered it up as not to alert the rest of the world to his damage potential. It will take one million more years, perhaps, but it will occur again.

This is the dawn of a new age. The age of Stern.
Do not be fooled my brothers, nor bribed, or misled, for this is the truth. Munro shall not silence me, nor any of his minions!
