Ok, please don't flame me for this, it's just a simple question. Why is it that, if HL2 was delayed according to EB games' dates, they delay it for 2 months? Valve is obviously working extremely hard to get the game in on time, but WHY delay it for such a long time? Why not delay it...

There's a lot going on right now with Steam and all the benchmark BS. They wouldn't declare it gold before the new Steam is out anyway. I'd say give em another week.
