When you finally reach GLaDOS she starts to deploy a surprise, until she gets interrupted by the sphere falling out.
What was the surprise supposed to be?
Its not the sphere falling out, she specifically says this is not the surprise.
I assume it has something to do with killing you...
I think a much more logical explanation for the third picture is that it is a diagram of an android. We know that AS was testing them due to the misconfigured test chamber. It looks nothing like a Vort.
The commentary has this to say about the origins of Magnusson:
[Brian Jacobsen] Dr. Magnusson was the result of a decision to bring forward another signature character from the original Half-Life, along the lines of Dr. Kleiner and Barney. As we developed the character, we kept referring back...
That was my initial reaction as well. It has the big eyes and the fin coming out the top, however it definetly says jellyfish underneath and the side fins and buck teeth are missing. It does seem to have a small buck tooth, but I would expect to see two large teeth for it to be this.
I can get into steam OK, however when I try to access the achievements screen in game it complains that I need to be online and logged into steam, which as far as I can see I am. Temporary glitch to high load from Orange box release?
Looking at the achievements list the is one for flinging over 300 ft. Therefore it must be possible to pull off a really long fling somewhere in the game
The is also an achievement of falling over 30,000 ft. I haven't tried this one yet, I wonder how long you have to fall before it activates?
In the steam games list right click on Half-Life 2.
Select properties from the pop-up list.
The is a language tab on the properties window with a drop down list of languages.
You could try some of the command line parameters to override the defaults:
-dx9 or -dx8 to specify direct X level.
-window to run in windowed mode instead of fullscreen.
May at least let you get to the settings menu to play with the parameters. The are some more parameters listed at...
Jars of jam would also be a logical choice. Sugar is a natural preservative, hence jam shouldn't go off too quick, although it can go mouldy if kept too warm. Same for honey and marmalade. Best kept in a cool place.
Some spreads also seem to last a long time. Nutella seems to last several...
No longer true. When TFT's first came out they had slow response times which meant anything fast moving on screen would result in motion blur. Technology has improved in the last few years and this type of issue is no longer a problem with new monitors.
If in doubt try to get a look at one in...
Possibly yes. The price of steam is around £26 at the current exchange rate. According to Amazon the the retail price is going to be £34.99, however they are selling it for £24.98. I don't know what price it's going to end up on the high street. At most you will only save a couple of quid by not...
Even though all the text will be in Italian, the placement of menu options should be hopefully be consistent across languages. The is more than one version of XP, so I don't know if these instructions will be identical, but its worth a try: (I am using XP 64bit edition, which may differ from the...

I have just pre-ordered OB off steam. I really only wanted EP2 and Portal, however it was cheaper to buy the whole lot that these two separately. The $5 early discount and the added extra of peggle tipped the balance. Haven't come across peggle before but its an interesting diversion. Not bad...
First enable the console from the advanced tab under options.

Both IDE/PATA and SATA are types of ATA, so an ATA drive could be either. The easy way to tell the difference is to look at the cable. IDE drives use wide flat 40-pin plugs/cables (see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Integrated_Drive_Electronics) while SATA cables are only 1/3 of the width with a...
