All you need to do is but a small dab of the Arctic Silver in the center of the CPU, about the size of a pea or a lil smaller and put the heatsink on. The heatsink is smooth and will apply it evenly and thin overtop of the CPU. That's worked best for me.
Some boards act funny with 4GB. There is an Asus board we put into a server here and the 4GB would only show up as 3GB due to chipset limits or w/e. Kind of a waste of money, but read the manual for the board and make sure it will actually use 4GB.
Office 2003 has a compatibility patch that can be downloaded and installed. The school systems may not let you though since you probably need admin rights. So just save as Office 2003 compatibility to avoid headaches.
Does it have an ethernet adaptor? If not buy a PCMCIA one and just transfer the files to the laptop's hard drive via the network. I only have experience with Windows98 on transferring files not 95.

I use IE7 just fine (that and I'm running Vista, the final release). Btw...McAfee and IE7 don't play nice. At least since last weekish. I use NOD32, but until McAfee updates their software don't run IE7 and that AV at the same time. :D
I'm running Vista on my laptop and home PC. My home PC (see sig) has 2GB RAM and runs great. I got blue screens at first due to the nforce4 audio driver so I installed the Realtek on from the DFI website and works beautifully.
My laptop has 1GB RAM and runs Vista smooth. (HP Pavilion...
ok I overreacted to saying "noobish" coding since I myself hate coding because it's so much stuff. Anydangway, Valve I'm sure is making a lot of phat cash so why not invest in a few more employees? You'd think Gabe would know when more help is needed since he used to work for Microsoft which...
Summer of 07!! Good thing I just got WoW to pass the time. And good thing Vista finally came out as well. Sure Vista has had delays but...it's an OS. An OS does a bagillion things. C'mon Valve, stop coding noobish and code like a pro and move it! I was all excited for Episode Two cause of...
